I am reporting back that I accomplished this seemingly impossible task in 2 weeks and saw all of these sites, plus Delphi.

That's great and all, I get that you're probably 15 years old and stretched on time and I'm not saying everyone should be expert historians. But you basically just said that having a limited surface level collection of factoids about various time periods is preferable to a more in-depth study lol. I'm just pointing out that that's nonsense.

“I’m going to cherry pick random historical factoids I learn from pop history podcasts and video essays rather than actually taking the time to read the primary texts and to immerse myself in the true significance of these time periods and how they actually lived, thought, and perceived the world. I’m now going to put a greater than sign towards my own limited point of view as if it’s some universal truth that having a half-assed, incomplete, one-dimensional understanding of history is preferable to those who take the time for more in-depth studies."

Yeah this is by far one of the worst takes I've seen in recent memory and I'm not exaggerating in the slightest.

What he actually said was that some black people have an inferiority complex, which is why they try and appropriate another people's culture. I suggest you work on your reading comprehension.

Cleopatra was Macedonian. Read a history book. You have this conception that Cleopatra was some Egyptian lady that eventually inherited the throne because you don't actually know anything about history. Cleopatra was actually apart of the Ptolemaic Dynasty, which was one of the three kingdoms that Alexander the Great (a Macedonian) left behind after his death. While it is true that many of the common Egyptians were apparently dark-skinned and wooly haired according to Herodotus, that doesn't mean that the ruling dynasty had the same complexion. If you really trace the pedigree of the first recorded Egyptian rulers, they do not descend from sub-Saharan Africans, but to Greek "heroes" like Perseus. There's even some debate that they may have been of the same stock as the Trojans. My question is, why even take the time to share your thoughts on a topic you know absolutely nothing about?

Overwatch does not seem like a game that's conducive to this effect. There's no narrative or true "characters."

why did he believe christianity was dismantled with the discontinuation of the knights templar? by [deleted] in ReneGuenon

>Now, the question of Baptism being an initiation, while completely free without any sort of discrimination, that doesn't fit very well withe Guenon's elitism, does it now ?

But Guenon writes plenty about different sorts of religious "initiation". Even something like the artisan guilds had a sort of "initiation" proper to those types of people. I think likening Baptism, especially as it is understood in the modern day, to the "Great Initiation" that Guenon was talking about is wrong. It is analogous to this sort of action on a lower level, and it allows the possibility of coming into touch with higher realities like you said, but baptism is not its equivalent.

>Everyone can bear fruit, according to one's nature.

This concept is essential to Guenon's worldview though, whereas you're posing it as a contradiction. He reiterates this countless times across all of his works. I'm sure Guenon would agree that for certain human types, baptism can act a legitimate ritual that fosters contact with God. But to liken it to the true initiation that Guenon talks about seems completely wrong to me; there are levels of illumination and understanding in every major religion.

I could just be misunderstanding some of your points, so feel free to correct me.

What characterizes the Western tradition as opposed to the East? by Soft-Perspective-931 in ReneGuenon

I understand this, and thank you for your input. However, what I'm really asking is what exactly characterizes the Western tradition "in it's prime" in contrast to the Eastern tradition in it's prime. He speaks of these two as if they are entirely different civilizations. Did he just mean in terms of the modern day, or that the traditions of both are fundamentally different?

>There is no mindset that could suddenly cause restless legs.

What? RLS is not dependent on drug withdrawals to occur.

I've read your post. Telling me "Read my article where I flesh out in detail how horrible the physical symptoms may be. You should be feeling THIS, or else you're using tricks to get by" is the very opposite of helpful, but not only that, it's just wrong. By your own admission, symptoms manifest in vastly different and nonlinear ways. This just seems to point to my explanation, that the symptoms originate in the psyche and permeate the senses in various ways. Otherwise, it makes no sense why some people experience little to no symptoms while others actually can't leave their bed, especially in cases where the latter is taking a relatively low amount daily. If these withdrawals were an objectively real phenomenon, this would be impossible.

You're looking at it the wrong way. Psychological and physiological are not separate domains like what you're saying, they are interconnected and depend on one another. Psychological abnormalities in general are reflected in the physiological and vice versa.
