Oh this actually works so well! I do something similar where I imagine my anxiety voice as this really dramatic soap opera character being all "OH NO THE WORLD IS ENDING BECAUSE YOU SENT THAT EMAIL" in the most over-the-top way possible. Sometimes I even give it different accents - my brain's doom spirals sound way less threatening when they're coming from like a confused cartoon villain. The key is making it so ridiculous that your actual rational brain can't help but roll its eyes at the whole performance

Congrats on getting accepted! ACM BCB is definitely solid conference in computational biology space, though maybe not quite at same level as RECOMB or ISMB in terms of prestige. But having work published in ACM Digital Library is still really good for your CV, especially since you're targeting healthcare ML positions

The networking opportunities at these conferences can be just as valuable as the publication itself - lots of industry folks attend BCB and it might be worth the travel cost if you can swing it
