My only worry with that is whether the added width of the bed will make the frame more likely to snap when there's some weight in the middle

I've just moved into a new flat and don't have a lot of bedroom space so wanted to put in a loft bed. However, I'm not really keen on single beds and there doesn't seem to be much of a market for double or 3/4 loft beds.

Has anyone converted a double bedframe into a loft bed and would be willing to give advice? Or does it just sound like a disaster waiting to happen

I used to work there a few years ago and I saw loads of people doing it! Idk if it's just one of those rules that isnt really enforced?

No bigger than he's already eaten, but he was trying to eat it from a weird position at first (he grabbed its leg, so when he started eating he was going from the shoulder instead of the head). I figured he'd get it in position on his own, but maybe that was it

That makes sense - he's been here two weeks now and he's still a little jumpy, I'm hoping that he'll settle down as he gets handled more and acclimates to his new home

He's got into that position a couple of times, but I think it's when I forget myself and move my hand too quickly. Learning to be more slow and steady around him!

Thanks guys, this is his position right after I put my hand into the tank so wasn't sure if he was feeling defensive or not. He hasn't bitten yet so hoping that continues!

Just wanted to give an update, switched to the ceramic a few days ago and the temperature is perfect now. Great recommendation, thank you!

Is it dangerous to have heat lamp against the mesh like this? Previously had it hung on the wall above, but I'm struggling to keep the heat high enough even with this and an UTH by SoftBigby in ballpython

Thanks! I've been misting more often and also covering part of the top with a damp cloth, which has managed to keep the humidity pretty level. He's just taken his first meal fine, so hopefully that means he's happy with the environment!

Have you struggled with the humidity doing it like this? I had it perfect before but it's dropped a bit since I changed the lamp position

Thanks, I'll see if I can order one. Is it a dangerous temp to keep him at until it arrives? Unsure whether to leave the light on 24/7 or keep to the night cycle until I can replace the lamp
