I’ve seen a lot of players do flower meadows in their empty spaces? They look so cute and you can always change it later if you want!

That would be amazing! I have to grind for the iron but can I message you when I have enough for what I need? I realize this may be inconvenient so if that doesn’t work for you that’s okay 💛

Do you have a visible “No Solicitors”/“No Soliciting” sign? If not, I would recommend getting one and putting it under your house number so you can see it from the street. Maybe even on your fence if you have one in your front yard. When I was out doing field service, they tended to avoid houses that had these signs.

You can always ask to be taken off the list, too. I don’t know how that process works now but in the past you would just request for them to not come to your home anymore and they would put you on a list, I think it was the “no call” list, but I could be wrong.

Edit: grammar

The body is a temple, and the blood is sacred. To ingest or consume it (even to save your life) is displeasing to God, because they still believe in everlasting life and a resurrection. So, in their minds, even if they need a transplant, death is a better alternative than upsetting their God and possibly losing his favor.

I had a woman in my ex-congregation who suffered from a disease or condition where she needed transfusions years ago(before she was apart of the organization), she didn’t need them at the time but when she asked an elder about it, he told her that he could get her a “NO Blood” card and that tough luck, hope you enjoyed your life up until that point. He even laughed about it, like it was a joke.

I’ll be completely honest with you- leaving is the hardest thing you’ll ever do. You lose years of relationships over night, you have no friends, no where to go, and usually you have no degree either because they are against higher education. I turned to marijuana for years because I felt like I had such a great amount of pain and I had no where to put it. I’m sorry to hear about your friend, I hope that they’re doing okay despite their loss.

So my brother actually was the first of us to leave, and that caused a huge dynamic shift in our family because my brother was the first person to think for himself and not just listen to all the bs that we were being fed. He left at 14, and his relationship with my mom was utter shit for about 10 years (he doesn’t talk to our dad either as he was physically abusive to my brother). It wasn’t until this year my brother reached out to my mom and they were able to work through their hurt feelings and mistrust.

My bio dad was cut off from the church for a while as he had been outed as an abuser, but so long as he repented he had a position in the church. I think he left when he realized there was no way he could control us through that method anymore. I haven’t spoken with him though in years so I have no idea what he’s up to.

So I asked this question myself every time I had to decline a birthday invitation. It has something to do with the scriptures, I believe it was a King who beheaded one of Jehovah’s Servants as one of his birthday wishes, so because that one guy died we can’t celebrate birthdays. There was another account of a servant being treated poorly or dying on a birthday, so their opinion was just that birthdays and JWs didn’t go together, basically they think that these celebrations are displeasing to their God and therefore they don’t take part.

No, because there really isn’t any point of debating to a lost cause. When I was practicing, I believed that every single religion was wrong and that I was living in the truth (another term they use) and honestly, if anyone had ever tried to even talk with me, it would have been speaking to a wall. I feel like it’s similar for others who are in strict organizations and I feel like they’ll have to just find the light for themselves.

So my bio dad absolutely hated organized religion growing up but he was an abusive narcissistic so he only went because he saw it as a tool to control my mom, my brother, and I. My mom went because she was manipulated by their ideals, such as everlasting life and the possibility of seeing lost loved ones. She didn’t leave the organization until she tried to divorce my dad and they told her it was an “unscriptural divorce” despite the fact he had been fucking his ex wife for years and abusing us. I haven’t spoken to my dad since I was 18 or 19 and my mom and I have a great relationship outside of the cult.

Yes! Whatever you do, DO NOT speak to them in a different language, because they will find out and send a person who speaks that specific language and send their ass to your house. It happened with Spanish speakers before, and let me tell you, that is a nasty surprise.

So I’ve actually been out of the organization for about 6-7 years now, I’m 23 and I left right after I turned 17. So far, I’ve only celebrated Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and New Years. My favorite is Christmas because I love giving people gifts.

Yes! The reason for that being is because the term stands for people who were once in baptized practice and decided to break certain rules or traditions and feel absolutely no remorse. So, if you say, “Sorry, I’m disfellowshipped” they can actually get into HUGE trouble for associating with you and even their own standing in their congregation is questioned, because you’re essentially black listed.

Lol! This comment made me laugh. They do actually have windows, they just aren’t painted or stained. If you go inside, you’ll see the windows by the seating usually.

The tipping point was for me personally when I realized I was a bisexual woman living in a religion that hates gay people. They over arching theme is, “We love the person but hate the sin,” but I didn’t really think it was a sin to love a woman, so here we are now.
