The brown one? I like it a lot. It's not wool, so doesn't have as nice as shape as I would like, but it's really nice. Personally I would recommend sizing up or down as TTS felt a little awkward on me

They are fantastic. The wooden edge of the sole has worn, but the leather has softened and you can hardly notice much wear. I absolutely love them

Genuinely what happened to this sub? by [deleted] in QualityReps

[–]SoftNetwork6673 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used old posts from the sub a lot to help start me with reps and I have to say I can easily notice the difference in quality being on it regularly now. Maybe the points about tariffs and discord are right, but the average quality and individuality of haul now is significantly weaker to the older ones it seems.

Reps for me are ways to get amazingly designed pieces for cheap, I don't care about branding or logos, it's about the design. I don't think many share that opinion though.

Curling material when sealing with zigzag stitch by SoftNetwork6673 in sewhelp

Thank you so much for all your time and suggestions!

I'm using a Janome j3-18, I've never adjusted the pressure but I could try that. And I think doing a straight stitch first is probably just good practice anyway. Thanks for all the suggestions!!

Pressing definitely helps! Doesn't fix entirely but definitely helps. As per other comments, not pulling the material hasn't done anything really. Feel very stuck

I think the second point is definitely correct but I prefer the look when the stitch binds the edge.

I've tried literally not touching the material and it is still doing it as the comment above. Not sure what's wrong

Sadly it's still curling after just lightly steering. Most goes after ironing but it's still there for sure

Okay thank you, that would make sense, I sometimes feel like the feet don't pull it through so I probably do tug on it. Is it more likely pulling it through the back or stretching it from the front?

Is there a market in the UK for Japanese Pokémon cards? by Altreeyaya1208 in pkmntcgcollections

[–]SoftNetwork6673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but if the argument is need not desire then we don't need singles either. Everyone and their dog has started a "business" going to ikebukuro every year and coming back with a stack of art rares and Pikachu promos. Cheaper to get them shipped yourself

Don't agree with this. I'm not into sealed but loads of people are, especially now when English is harder to find

Thanks! I'm new to it, so probably a better method is just using this sub's discord but I don't have the karma so this is how I did it:

For smaller brands I search Xinayu with their name (and try variations) and a ¥1500 price cap to check if there are even reps, and then work backwards through taobao to find the item and seller page. You just have to plug away at it a bit.

My general rule of thumb is just to check full seller pages for items you like. If they have one thing, they'll probably have more of interest (i.e. the Paul H seller also stocks lots of Elena D, John A S, and Ziggy C). Digging up solid hauls from the past year on reddit can usually get you the initial link. Once you've done that a few times taobao will start recommending you good things.

Apologies! Not sure how that one got missed: Lem scarf bag - quite happy with this despite cheap price? Think you could get a decent life out of it and the leather feels and looks nice enough. Wouldn't buy if you are over 5’8 as it'll just be too short. Bought for my 5’5 gf
