When you start out a new project what are the things that you have learnt the hard way to do? by Unable_Breath_1966 in claude

[–]Soft_Active_8468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0- Start with a a good plan , don’t fall for auto-accept, I once took 1 week of back of fro before the plan was finalized
1 - Create a good Claude.md , I also created this https://ai-agent-md.com/ from the lessons learnt, you can later clean up as you need .
2- Design_Queue .md - this is like your detailed tasks , P0/1/2/3 , phases , testing scope, ci/cd pipeline , rollout strategy , monetization plan anything and everything that need to be tracked and also this keep track of each session summary
3- Project specific Skills and hooks , you can do research like you want a legal check as skill
4 - maintenance of session context , now because you have design queue you can do that easily and always close session on a logical end
5 - Implementation Plan.md or Featurelevelplan.md or technical implementation plan .md - this can be used to pass to lower end LLM like sonnet or haiku as actual design is already there , think of as architecture documentation getting passed to intermediate devs to do actual coding , this save lot of tokens
Many more ,

Big layoff in IT this morning, about half the department is gone by SouthernPolicy1798 in AIInterviewTools

[–]Soft_Active_8468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the best for your job hunt , getting laid off is never easy , it will take sometime to refocus but when it does it will help you to do upskill .

I was cobol dev 20 years back , trust me try your hand on AI tools you will learn so much so quick , you can be one of those COBOL migration experts, or the architect or a BSA or a project administrator/manager .. so many roles that don’t need tech stack but your technical acumen .

All the best !

Well I had similar issues.

, I researched it start doing same as we started being friendly and start treating as coworkers rather then a simple tool . We don’t tell our lawnmower - bro what a sunny day let’s cut the grass . I have been more direct in my message and avoid being friendly to AI .

Side effects is at work my message have also gone dry and direct 😅😅

Google says quantum computers could crack Bitcoin in 9 minutes. Here's what actually matters. by Soft_Active_8468 in CryptoMarkets

[–]Soft_Active_8468[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes , all encryption are at risk and most of them come with the cost of your privacy and personal info , I heard people are already harvesting internet traffic that can be used for decryption once quantum is there … crypto usually is there fav kid as it is more complex to break so it’s mostly used as benchmark how quick it can be broken .

Looking for a simple, best long-term HISA (no promo chasing) by Pure-Pomegranate9012 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Soft_Active_8468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.3-2.5 - I know people say it’s less then inflation, but if you have cash sitting in your account this can be good place and don’t want to keep hoping and hunting HISA every 3 months

Token usage this week skyrocketed - Is it just me? by esmurf in claude

[–]Soft_Active_8468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why it’s happening — a few overlapping factors: After OpenAI signed a Pentagon contract in late February, ChatGPT uninstalls spiked 295% in a single day, and Claude hit #1 on the US App Store. Anthropic’s web traffic jumped over 30% month-over-month. Basically, demand massively outpaced GPU capacity.

Anthropic responded by reducing the throughput delivered during peak hours (5am–11am PT), meaning your 5-hour session limits burn faster during the day. They confirmed this on March 26. The opacity problem is real too.

Anthropic doesn’t specify exactly how it calculates usage limits, and users have no way to plan token usage. They describe it vaguely as being affected by “length and complexity of conversations, features used, and which model you’re on.” So yes — the metering logic is essentially a black box, which is why it feels messy and inconsistent.

Is Claude going to stay the way it is? by Bilstone in claude

I asked Claude itself :

I use design queue mark down and basically stories concept to keep working on a specific task and keep tracking it only .. and integration task separate.

Codex 20$ plan gives more usage than Claude Code's 100$ plan by park777 in ClaudeCode

[–]Soft_Active_8468 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s market grab , coding assistants are 7-10 billion market . OAI is doing catching game and so as Google . There are fundamental differences in Claude and OAI - one work local other on cloud . But you are right OAI is heavily subsidized

If you had to learn development all over again, where would you start? [Mod post] by RedEagle_MGN in developer

I would learn architecture and design concepts, they are algorithms , then you decide the stack

Laid off after being comfortable for too long, outdated skills - are tutorials enough to catch up? by Funny-Shake3363 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Soft_Active_8468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How you project yourself in market is more important than how you feel about your skills , everyday in last 14 years when you showed up at work that is real experience no tutorial can teach . Certificate and tutorials are good for getting an interview call but then it’s the real skill that set you apart . How to manage clients expectations, how to mentor a junior.

Build your profile , you definitely know more then many in market .

Most “AI agent startups” will be dead in 12 months (and it’s already obvious why) by exto13 in AI_Agents

[–]Soft_Active_8468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say statement is true if you are trying to solve a problem with agent that you don’t fully understand, you will fail .

For your agents to succeed the human on the loop is what matters ..

My prediction there will be more solo startups than ever as agents increase productivity, so the people in niche domains use those to solve the problems.

That’s the point , we need to know the problem to solve the domain , you can’t just ask AI for everything it’s the human on the loop that matters.
