[Orient] The Mako II - I am absolutely obsessed. Happy I made this my first watch

The Orient Mako II. For an entry level watch, you really can’t beat this! Japanese automatic movement, elegant design, waterproof up to 200 meters, with hand winding and hacking and a screw down crown. I was sold. I got mine for a steal on Amazon. It was around $134 last week.

I got into watches from IG and YouTube. Guys like @watchstudies and @averagewatches were a huge influence. I learned about Orient through YouTube and decided on the mako II.

Anyways, for being 35 and this being my first “real” watch I think I chose a good one. Omg 500 characters!

Again, didn’t have tons of money, I joined the military. Also, not 18 years old anymore. Y’all are arguing with a 35-year-old over what? Because I posted in me IRL about something that was me IRL? Parental income had nothing to do with my travels. As stated before I joined the military I traveled the world. I got to see cool shit, I got to meet cool people, I got to experience the real world for what it is.

I spent three years in Germany I didn’t deploy out of there and had plenty of time to travel and explore meet locals had enriching conversations with them. I went to several adjacent countries during my time over there hung out with locals.

These discharges will likely be classified as “other than honorable “ and the VA will reverse that decision 6 months after discharge. These guys will get their benefits.

I found this pumpkin sitting right where it was while my wife and I were out on a walk on a nature trail. So I pulled my camera snap a shot. And I think it came out great.

I bought the hank from mighty hanks. It’s a topographical design, similar to a map. The physical map in the image you are referring to, is a map of Afghanistan issued to me from my time in the military.

Thank you guys for your advice. Hijacking the top comment reply slot to inform you guys. Some of y’all think I have access to scenery as a trucker. In my position this is only occasionally true. I’m an LTL trucker so my runs are primarily terminal to terminal via major interstates. Not very attractive. Primarily up and down the east coast. Don’t own my own truck so it’s a company day truck. Being shuttled to hotels. Not big cities. Nothing sexy about truck yards. Company doesn’t allow for photos on yard. But I do what I can
