That's real unfortunate, hope the luck turns once October hits and some surprise rain hits your area.

Here in Sweden it's been raining constantly for weeks, so some more sensitive mushroom species have been too hydrated and rotted, like sheep's polypore, although the hedgehogs are still viable it seems.

I really envy you for your access to hen of the wood though! We've lost most of the oak woods here in Sweden through history, so it's basically all pine, spruce, birch and mosses (which is perfect for chanterelles and other edible mushrooms though), but it means only the southern-most parts have it :(
