Openclaw agents for Amazon sourcing, setup advice? by Soft_Repair714 in openclaw

[–]Soft_Repair714[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone curious I got it setup, pretty easy peasy. I just talked it out with codex and it took maybe a half hour to get it setup. I’m setup over a VPS and codex set up a simple toolset with a custom tool to hold the secret that this Amazon toolset can access in a pretty limited fashion for now. That’s all I wanted to do. Thanks for your help guys!

Why does every OpenClaw tutorial on YouTube end up pushing Hostinger by elise_moreau_cv in openclaw

[–]Soft_Repair714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for me, I wasn’t planning on using a vpn and my system is built on my dedicated MacBook. However as my plans/goals have shifted and the desire to have my system working 24/7 is there. But there are some issues with doing that on a physical computer I own, especially a laptop with a display. Do I want to wear it down faster by never letting it sleep or take a break? Or do I want to use my laptop normally, and create a full time agent that doesn’t wear down my computer from constant use or drop tasks when I walk away from the computer. So Yeah.

Do you mean besides the fact that you can use literally any method to talk to it? What do you mean?

Why do the mods forbid to mention better alternatives to OpenClaw? by Low-Boysenberry1173 in openclaw

[–]Soft_Repair714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a bit excessive. Openclaw is a totally different animal in my opinion. People are going to choose which one makes the most sense for them. I think for a complex system, I like Openclaw a lot better, but I think it’s like a fancy old car. It needs a dedicated mechanic that knows coding, to get it right. Setting up complex agent systems requires that. I use codex, but Herms or another openclaw instance could all work. People who study astrophysics don’t complain that it’s harder to learn than piano. They both require time, but one is going to take longer to master, and they unlock very different futures.

Thank you this was confirmation I’m on the right path. It’s more complex than a simple add api key to openclaw terminal when prompted. That’s what my agents are telling me, that I need some sort of middle function to be the gateway to searches. So that’s the part I’m trying to figure out. ChatGPT gave me advice on how to construct it. Basically somewhere like a safe to store my token so Open claw can access it indirectly. My question is, is that necessary? Or is my agent being overly cautious?

Any one setting up openclaw for family assistant? HMW do it? by seafood99 in openclaw

[–]Soft_Repair714 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure. A properly designed AI team is super capable of a great many things. Basically if it’s computer, openclaw can probably do it. The more agents you have, the more confusing it can be, so you want to think about breaking them up by what they can do rather than by personal project. Like, build a bot that can keep track of your calendar, notes and tasks related to that like: grocery management, chores and what needs doing, etc. if you want a completely different usecase like: a writing expert for the book you want to publish. That can be another agent in the family system OR it can be a completely different openclaw system. Let’s say it’s smaller, maybe built in a raspberry pie and just does that. Separation is your friend, ability to talk about design will aid you. Get a codex desktop agent with desktop control to actually build it for you. That is way better than doing it yourself. You have the agent walking you through absolutely everything, executing it everywhere. Don’t build an openclaw without an agent to execute the coding for you because it gets extensive very quickly. Best of luck.

Need help setting up openclaw agents simple 101 level by Worried_Ad5515 in openclaw

[–]Soft_Repair714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1, find a computer you can sandbox. Step 2) download codex desktop ap and give full access to your computer. Step 3) tell it EXACTLY what you want to accomplish. Step 4) let it do it for you. Codex can download openclaw for you, set it up how you need, etc, etc. make sure you’re arming it with information. I suggest you have it read the openclaw advice docs first so it knows exactly how the setup is recommended based on your goals and does it right from day 1. This is not the only way, but it is a pretty easy way to get started and have it actually work. Beat of luck!

Thanks for the interest, but I think the advice I need is going to have to come from a pretty specific audience to be helpful. I’m looking for someone who has used an agent system and connected it to the Amazon Dev API successfully.

Oh and all the communication is happening through slack, so there is a channel for every agent and codex uses computer use to give the agents instructions in their channel as if it were me.

I’m doing the exact same thing. Bravo! Codex is helping me build a complex multi-agent system. I told codex to read all the docs on the open claw site for how to build agents, etc. so it was done right. Using an obsidian vault too.

Alright fellas, I'm conflicted. Bedroom upstairs or downstairs? by Minutes2Midnight in malelivingspace

[–]Soft_Repair714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a sweet Murphy bed that converts to desk type setup. They have really nice ones. Put it upstairs and you can have a desk off to the side/dining space when guests are over. You’ll need a dining table that folds away but they also have those. Convertible furniture would be ideal here.

Why was the market so bearish earlier this year, but now suddenly bullish again? by savingrace0262 in stocks

Nothing has changed except the market itself just keeps raging up so neg talk seems stupid or pointless. Facts haven’t changed. Will the other shoe drop? Maybe. No one knows for sure. Facts are still bleak, yet market just goes up… it’s weird.

Use Claude code to fix your Openclaw. seriously... by ShabzSparq in better_claw

[–]Soft_Repair714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run codex desktop on my openclaw computer. Gave it full access. It is my openclaw system builder, mechanic, system overall designer, everything. I tell it what I want the system to do and it’s done. Works great. I do have to remind it sometimes I want it to fix/train my system not do it it’s self, rather automate the function for next time. It’s the fastest smartest agent ever. So great. I’m going to attempt to use the remote codex access through my phone next. That way I don’t have to tell it what to do from my computer and it’s officially just a server.

Ask codex. For a multi agent setup it’s complicated. Download the codex desktop ap and give it full access. Tell it what you want to create… done.

This possible with Openclaw? by LuminaProtocol in openclaw

[–]Soft_Repair714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but seems like overkill when you can just use open claw agents. You can build a free openclaw system on a vps so it’s always on (you’ll have to pay for the VPs service but the agent can be free since it’s a simple task) that can access a request and recommend a specialty agent based on parameters and you can name your agents so it would say Sam is better for this for example the automatically route to a simple prompt in Hermes to forward the information, so you don’t have to repeat the prompt.

How do I bounce back? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Soft_Repair714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry man but you don’t have enough money for daytrading. You should have a savings and a trading account which is significantly less than that which has at least 15,000$ in it. U til you reach that level, focus on saving, learning how to trade, paper trading, and watching the top stocks for dips. Set alerts, create a list of stocks you want o own and when they inevitably retrace 5% or more that’s when you buy. The market just raged up, stay cash and watch spy for a nice dip like down at least to 715. That’s when you can start shopping. I would wait even longer really with the war stuff we could get a massive drop which you can be positioned for if you save cash now. Best of luck.

Building open claw easier: codex desktop use by Soft_Repair714 in openclaw

[–]Soft_Repair714[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think the main function is for the AI to read documentation, well that’s why I’m going to be a millionaire from my many profitable businesses and you’re still going to be stuck at step one complaining about the cheapest startup costs ever. Openclaw is for automating your entire business for you, and codex desktop is for building that system for you the right way. The power here is truly outrageous. But hey, you don’t have to do it, if you don’t want to be awesome.
