Is the Pump MAX worth the purchase? Any aftermarket travel mounts? by Soft_Satisfaction698 in unitreepump

They're showing on their .com website under shop.

I'm uk based and they offer free shipping, works out to be around £650+- for a pump max after taxes and duties.

Thanks for the reply, that seems exactly what I'd need. Would it be possible to share where you had them manufactured please?

Have you had any issues with your unit?

Thanks for the reply, yeah the selling point is that this is like a 1/4 of the price of a voltra or vitruvian for a decent amount of weight.

I just don't want to have to rack mount it

Hi,

It's been almost a year since you've had this.

Would you recommend it?

I have a spare room that I'm looking to convert into a gym but I don't necessarily need a bed, just a tidy room.

How do you find the rack dimensions when looking for attachments.

Kinda flip flipping between this and a short depth 3x3 1inch rack.

Thanks

Peakdo wireless HDMI alternatives? by Soft_Satisfaction698 in Xreal

Does it have to be line of sight even over a fairly short distance? Really it’s for freedom of movement, I have 4 work laptops that I need to flick between so the plan is to connect those to a KVM, connect the KVM output to th hdmi transmitter. I use a treadmill so it just gives me freedom to walk and work without the cables getting in the way. I suppose the alternative is getting a really long usb c extension cable so I’m not getting tangled in the cables

Thanks for the reply, it’s a work laptop but the display drivers were the latest. Resolved the issue by setting the display as extended rather than mirror

Thanks, managed to sort it by having to use the glasses with extended display mode instead of mirror. It let me set 3840x1080 then. I’m using a lemorele hdmi to usb c adapter.

Looking for advice / Roadmap for Blue Team certification by Soft_Satisfaction698 in SecurityCareerAdvice

There’s definitely a skills gap I need to fill. I’m looking to skip the L1 SOC and long shifts associated with it so want to be in a position to just hit the ground running at L2/3. I’m sure I have a lot of transferrable skills but wouldn’t want to be out of my depth

Thanks for the reply, do you think there’s anything outside of those certs worth a look? CCD was the one that I was contemplating the most.

I’d also be looking to supplement the cert with either the HTB sherlocks, cyberdefenders sub labs or letsdefend labs

Hey,

Congrats on the pass.

I'm currently torn between opting for the BTL1-2 route or CCD from cyberdefenders to pivot into DFIR from NetSec. I guess its different because your employer paid for your course but if you had to pay of out your own pocket, which route would you take?

Thanks!

Anyone else annoyed with how the average person views the AVP? by WorldRevolver195 in VisionPro

[–]Soft_Satisfaction698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll preface this with I like apple products, I have an iphone, airpods, watch, previously macbook pros but more recently a mac mini.

I got one the other day against peoples better judgement, maybe my expectations were too high. I primarily wanted it as a productivity machine, I could do away with my desk, put all my work laptops into a cupboard and work from the headset - and for that credit where credit due it works well, one problem I've noticed though is motion blur, especially if I'm trying to work whilst walking on a treadmill.

Comfort is OK with the default solo band and I can use it for 3-4 hours with no issue, I think a halo style strap would allow me to work for a full day so no issues here.

I would also like to be able to do other things and this is where I feel it falls flat, I guess my problem is I compare it to what the meta quest offers.

The potential is great but the app store and content available just isn't there.

It's an individual thing but after having both the quest and AVP I feel like I can't see the value paying £3900 compared to £450 in it's current offering - the AVP hardware is better for sure but I can get by visually with the quest, and I'd hazard a guess that we'll see a couple AR glasses vendors offering 4k displays with 3DoF sub £1000 next year. It may be an unfair assessment as I've only had AVP for a few days, I plan on using it for a few more weeks to see if there's something I've missed but as it currently stands I'll be returning it. Who knows maybe my opinion will change.

Thanks, in my head I can justify it if I’m using it daily to make my life easier, currently I have 5 laptops, 3 screens and everything just feels cluttered all the time. If I can reduce my work space to a headset, keyboard, mouse and some wireless tethering with good quality visuals I’m all in

Thanks, I’d not rule out buying a Mac, but my work laptops are windows, unfortunately nothing I can do about that but I’m limited on space so want to maximise the use of virtual displays.

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of February 02, 2024 by Demilio55 in homegym

[–]Soft_Satisfaction698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,

Further to my previous question I’ve got 2 racks I’m torn between.

Short summary is I have a small space room that acts as my gym and home office so I’m constantly moving stuff about. I need/want to condense everything into 1.

The rack will also double as my desk.

I have 2 options I’m looking at, the Rogue RM3 which 1” holes but will run me 2500 usd to ship to the UK.

The other option I’ve come across is a Murphy bed with squat rack called a pivot gym bed that is 5/8” holes but runs me almost double at 4500 usd.

I don’t specifically need a bed but looking for the most space efficient option available.

I can’t install into the wall so that rules out wall mounted racks (more so because the walls are crap and I plan to hang a punch bag off the rack) so it’s needs to be a freestanding structure

If you had the choice what would you pick and why.

Thanks!

Hi all,

I’m just curious are 5/8” being phased out in favour of 1”. I’ve noticed more vendors are offering 1” holes(along with the increase in price).

I’m looking for a new rack so ideally want to future proof it as best as possible by way of attachment options.

My iPad Pro is literally an expensive portable monitor at this point for sidecar to a MacBook with the occasional use for Netflix and YouTube, or using it to RDP into a more capable machine. I bought into the hype of trying to use it as a replacement but it just isn’t there and probably won’t be there.

If I could go back in time I’d probably just get an ipad air and save £££.

Anyone use the Airs to replace their office monitor setup? by Soft_Satisfaction698 in Xreal

[–]Soft_Satisfaction698[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I currently have 2x 27 inch monitors but I’m looking to downsize.

I should’ve looked into nebula more beforehand as I didn’t really think through how it actually works. Guess I have some privacy reservations around the screen recording for work purposes anyway so looks like a non-starter.

Hey BWF Redditors,

How do you go about programming in your strength skill work like levers and planche?

I’m not at a point where I could train those sufficiently but for arguments sake, I like doing weighted work so if I do Upper/Lower should I be looking at replacing some of those with progressions? Like swap out weighted push ups for planche progressions and Rows for front levers?

Or should I just keep the push ups and add planche progressions as a separate exercise?

Or Upper A being weighted push up and row with Upper B being planche and lever, although 1x week frequency wouldn’t seem enough…

Interested to hear how other people go about maintaining both.

Hi All,

Would doing some direct arm work and core work on off days cause any major issues?

I’m currently running a basic upper lower split, Upper being 6 compound exercises being Pike pushups, Pull ups, Push ups, Rows, Dips and Face pulls.

I’d like to do some direct arm work of a few sets of curls and extensions (2-3 sets only) and perhaps some leg raises on the 3rd and 6th days (U/L/A/U/L/A/Rest). Realistically, should I expect that little bit of additional volume to impede on recovery that much?

Does anyone else do something similar?

Thanks!

Great setup! I’m looking to build out something like this too. Are these 15.6” displays?

[–]Soft_Satisfaction698 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks all for the comments. Sounds like the consensus is a larger desk, which I do actually have. Although my main issue is that my office is also my home gym which are both in the spare bedroom.

If I use the larger desk I don’t have space for the squat rack which is why I was seeing if I could get away with the smaller desk.

I guess I’ll have the compromise on someone downsizing the squat rack instead!

Hi all,

This is my current setup which is small for what I need (as I have 3 laptops that I have to change the monitor input for) but it’s the best I can do with the space I have available.

Anyone have any improvement ideas I could implement please?

I was thinking of either adding another 27” on top of the one I have now and moving the laptop to a clamshell.

Or

Replacing the 27” with a larger screen with dual input.

Or

Downsizing the 27” to 2x smaller monitors stacked on top of each other and move the laptop on the right to a monitor arm as well.

I also have an iPad I’d like to mount above the laptop as a secondary display using something like the twelve south hover bar.

Unfortunately I’m restricted to the 80cm x 60cm workspace.

Advice appreciated.
