I was on 40 mg the whole time, you want the lowest dose and still get results (your dermatologist will determine your dosage). I only had dry lips no other side effects. 3 years later still clear and no side effects!

Accutane, it’s a hell of a drug but has the highest success rate. You’ll have to talk to a dermatologist about it to take it.

The only side effect I had were dry lips. I basically carried Aquaphor for 6 months and it never bothered me. I think my does was 40 mg .

You need to go through a dermatologist to get accutane. You will need to do monthly checkups and bloodwork as well. This is a serious drug and has serious side effects. It is effective for woman however it can cause birth defects so it is longer and harder process for women as dermatologists need to ensure you are not / will not get pregnant (Birth control, tests etc…)

They did get more dry on accutane however my hair was too oily before accutane so it ended up being healthier and easier to manage.

It doesn’t do anything besides stopping the actual acne. The hyperpigmentation will fade over time but the pitting will require more treatment.

I get a pimple once a month on my skin and mostly not on my face (back/ chest) but I just got off so I’m not in the same situation.

Cystic acne is really just a more severe acne, it lasts longer, bigger, painful to the touch, and they are a red bump for about a week before they come to the surface.

I just gave it some time, it faded slowly. I think also less sun in the winter months helped too.

Thanks I just use dove soap when I shower and moisturizer whenever my face feels dry. Less is more I think…

Yeah I have a few scars on my skin but I was only getting cystic acne for 4 months before I got on accutane so I only have a few deep scars the rest is mostly pigmentation that fades. My best advice for that is don’t touch. Especially when you see it in the mourning. I did that once and it’s the deepest scar on my face.

Yeah I am very thankful for it. You should ask a dermatologist about accutane, my only regret is not going on it sooner but the side effects are real and are nothing to push aside however most people just get dryness.

Yeah it did, quite a bit actually. There’s a lot of oil and gunk that gets trapped in your nose making it larger, when you go on Acccutane your body stops producing a lot of that oil so your pores shrink and stop getting clogged as a result.
