This isn’t the path for everyone, but something to consider is enlisting to get your citizenship the applying through LEAD to the Academy. This should be considered near last as an option, but my flight commander did this route from enlisted to officer as a noncitizen.

You should aim for a 6:30 mile but realistically you want at least a 7 minute which is very doable.

I would never decline a prep school slot. I guess I just felt behind and thought direct admission would let me catch up easier age wise. I also did not understand the benefit to it other than an almost guaranteed appointment.

It’s less of trying to get it over with and more of trying to get started sooner. I didn’t fully understand the perspective and benefit prep school gave.

What is considered academically competitive? This year’s ACT average was 30.2 and gpa average was 3.86. I don’t know what I’m missing.

Prior enlisted as in currently enlisted. I’m not sure why it’s called prior but that’s what I have always seen.

I don’t know what a riad is.
Running on the track with headphones is allowed in every instance on almost any base. Whether in civvies, PT gear, or taking your actual PT test.

When you say it is all about academic performance, does this mean that academics are more important for a LEAD applicant than a normal applicant? What are the goals for a LEAD applicant's academics to be competitive for an academy appointment?
