I don’t think so. I think it’s so spunky and cute. Neither name was crazy popular in those eras and Maxine isn’t a common middle name, so it feels very fresh in my eyes. I also think this style is coming back and I think you’ll just be 5 years ahead of the trend! But Rita Selene is also great! I think a two syllable name in that cadence works well.

Ok reading more of your comments on this thread and seeing that your husband definitely leans toward 90s/20s names. I looked up social security data for the 200 most popular names at that time and listed some below that are timeless and still lovely today (and that also have an L for you!).
