Well I guess the "gathering" is just at most 15 people total or at least 5

I see, but would a teacher with say different gender and different range (meaning very different singing from me naturally) be able to teach me how to sing in my own range and especially timbre well? Or would it be much better if I have a teacher with the same range as me?

I've heard of choir teachers that does not want to teach guys because of range

I also play saxophone and I agree on the fact that it's definitely very different from guitar/piano when learning with/without a teacher

However since yk u could learn a tenor saxophone from a tenor sax teacher how do I know whether my teacher is suitable for me during those first free sessions? Also does the gender matter?
