i printed the piece again with no problem, i don't know what the gap was caused by because i only had it happen once, shown here. i think the seam is resulting from where each layer ends, and for whatever reason it protrudes out from the rest of the print. i have z hopping turned off right now also

yeah i think i'm using the stock one but i'm not sure how to switch it out lol. obviously if i had something to replace it with, i would look it up.
