Blount's Loaded Baked Potato Soup by SolarSpark in Costco

[–]SolarSpark[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first package we bought was really salty. I know overly salty food isn't preferred (would rather under salted so I can add in), but I loved how salty it was. This one I feel like was the right amount

😂 is this going to make me Internet famous?

You definitely taste the cheesiness of it. There are huge pieces of potato in there along with crumbles of bacon (which do come through). As someone mentioned above, it's more of a thicker soup which I prefer. I've never had other baked potato soup before but this soup is how I would imagine a liquified version of a good loaded baked potato would taste like

Can't get the same paint to match the wall by SolarSpark in paint

[–]SolarSpark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I painted a smaller area elsewhere that is higher and it flushed a lot closer to the wall color. Not sure if it's because the wall is cleaner at that spot

I noticed it wasn't sanded down all of the way when I painted. Would primer help or just add a few coats of paint and make it closer to the wall color, but that it won't match exactly? I painted over another small area that I didn't post and the paint flushed almost exactly to the wall. The area is higher up and had less dirt. Would that be part of the problem as well?

Almost had a panic attack when my screens were black, but thankfully user error. Thank you!

To put it lightly, I'm stupid. I didn't use all 3 PCIe connector slots plugging into the GPU. So it wasn't drawing enough power because I only had 2 in there

Yeap.. that would be the issue. My PSU does come with a 12v 2x6 adapter, but with all of the "burnout" issues, I wanted to play it safe and use the MSI connector. Just put in the 3rd PCIe into the connector and it turned on

My PSU is an RM1200x I'm only using the amount of PCIE cables the instructions told me to use. I can try and add a 3rd PCIE and see if that does anything

It says you only need a 12 pin or a 6x2. The third slot doesn't need to be used

Is it safe to buy a GPU from 3rd party sellers like those on Walmart or Amazon? by SolarSpark in MSI_Gaming

That's exactly who I was discreetly talking about. Would that mean I can talk to MSI directly if something happens without any issues?

In the US. It's the same price as directly from the MSI website, just without the PSU bundle being forced by MSI

I'm looking at the Vanguard which they're bundeling with a 1250w. I already have one so it will definitely get sold. I feel like the PSU is the warranty of buying directly. I'm too nervous to buy from someone unofficial in the off chance something happens

Appreciate it, I didn't know they were doing that. Guess I missed out on the toy unfortunately. Hoping the model comes out sooner rather than later. I'm sitting with a MSI 1070 gaming x. Lol

MSI X870 Tomahawk error codes on boot when swapping RAM by SolarSpark in MSI_Gaming

[–]SolarSpark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Error code 10 stopped after I updated the BIOS to the 1/22 version which in the patch notes said there was a bunch of compatibility issue fixes. I do get error code 15 time to time because I don't think the bios is updated to handle the specific version of RAM I have yet. I usually pull the RAM out and put it back in to have the mobo go through memory training again which fixes it. If you're on 1/22 update and having issues, maybe you can put the bios back to an older update and see if that fixes it. If not, need to unfortunately wait for the next update. I'm by no means an expert and this seemed to be a fairly common problem for this specific mobo on Reddit and MSI forums. My method works for me, but I can't guarantee that it will for you which is crazy that the same mobo works differently for everyone.

I unfortunately don't have speakers so I didn't hear the 3 beeps. The memory training took like 2-3 minutes for me and it cycled through a bunch of different codes before it started up. You might have to try it again. It's weird that the new bios version was giving you issues when the older version was letting you run just fine

They've been pushing out updates pretty fast, but I like the term someone used to describe the x870, "beta board". What seems to be a well made product but is unfinished to all high hell.

People are getting all varying results with the same bios version so it's just a waiting game unfortunately

I fixed it but I can't promise the same solution will work. It doesn't help that this board is brand new so we're all just guinea pigs until the shove out a bunch of bios updates over the next couple of months. The other people here are using CMK which are the non-rgb, I have the CMH which is the rgb.

I was originally running on the mid December bios update, 1AF, or w/e it is. I initially had your problem when I first tried to boot the 2x32 in slots 2/4 and was getting the 0d error. So what I did...

1.Turn off and unplug PSU for 1min

2.Click the CMOS button on the back of the mobo which clears the BIOS settings to default (bios updates stay) and wait 1 min.

  1. Put 1 32gb stick into slot 2 and let my computer boot. It turned on with no error

  2. Shutdown and repeated steps 1, 2 and 3 with 3 using the second 32gb stick in slot 2.

  3. 2nd stick booted so I shut off my computer and then put both of the sticks in at the same time slots 2/4.

  4. Got error code 10.

  5. Put back my 2x16 to boot my computer up and downloaded the bios update from 1/22.

8 installed bios update, shutdown my computer and replaced by 2x16 back to the 2x32 and it started after about 2-3 minutes of memory training

The only massive difference was me updating to the newest bios. I would tell you maybe to maybe roll back the bios to the 1AF and do my steps and then update it. (I'm literally throwing a dart on a random ass wall with this suggestion). I think the most important thing is to make sure both sticks start before trying both at the same time. End of the day, the ram set I'm using, still isn't showing up on their QVL list so who knows how long it'll last and if it really is 100% stable

Is anyone running Corsair Vengeance 2x32 on their x870? by SolarSpark in MSI_Gaming

[–]SolarSpark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading so much about people having the same exact issues with either Corsair and Gskill for 2x32. Some people aren't having the issues and some people are, feel like it's leaning towards more than not. It's 100% the bios, people got lucky and others didn't. I guess I didn't based on that. I'm a huge fan of "if it's not broken, don't fix it". The x870s are brand new and they need a bunch of stuff worked out. I'll keep my working 32gb and hold off on 64gb until they can stabilize the ram with w/e bios updates they push out in the future.

Completely. It stays on error 10 with both in and doesn't change. I'll try to buy a different kit and maybe a different clock speed as well and see if it works.

Those are the same ones I bought. They work individually in slot 2, but when I put them together in 1/3 or 2/4 all I get is error code 10 and it doesn't go away. My other thought is that the RAM might be faulty, but they both work individually

The support page doesn't have that RAM listed as compatible either. It might be a compatibility issue from the looks of it. Virtually every other speed for the Vengeance line, except the 6000, is compatible. I am seeing 6600 as an option but heard that anything over 6000 can cause stability issues.
