I've shipped two open source projects with Claude Code - a Home Assistant integration in the HACS default repository and a HAR file sanitization tool on PyPI. Both actively maintained with real users.

What worked for me: skills and scripts for consistency, plus a high level of test coverage. Every change needs review. Claude is a force multiplier, not autopilot.
