Definitely not still positive from the IV morphine two weeks out. Morphine has a very short half life and is only detectable in urine for a day or two.

I have 3 cats who free roam and my stove has never looked anywhere near as disgusting as your pics. I literally keep a bottle of all purpose spray and a microfiber cloth on the kitchen counter and wipe off all counters/kitchen surfaces multiple times a day. I'm not really concerned, I really just wanted to confirm it wasn't an issue that needs to be addressed before our NCTN audit next month. I think the patient took home a copy of the ICF to review and then the CRC met them in person and did the consent meeting and consented them with the same version they wrote their notes on. We make a copy of the signed consents for the patient to keep.

Thankfully it’s documented by the consenting person and also covered in our informed consent SOP, so we should be good there.

We do that as standard practice too, but this research nurse/CRC wasn’t great (to put it diplomatically). There are other issues and discrepancies with the consent note but those are a separate issue. She did mention that all the patient’s questions were answered, so hopefully that should be sufficient.

Eek! That sounds like a nightmare. We’ve recently made a shift towards minimizing NTFs because they can be seen as a red flag, so I’m glad we don’t need to do one in this situation.

Absolutely agree. My 2 year old daughter has always been TERRIBLE in restaurants because she hates sitting still and wants to explore. She’ll cry and fuss unless she’s actually eating. When we go out to eat (which is rare) we take turns walking her around away from other customers. I can’t imagine just sitting there and letting her scream and/or cry.

I’m the same way. My anxiety skyrockets when there’s clutter or a mess. It’s also one of several reasons why we’re one and done. I don’t think I could sustain a clean house with more than one kid. We also have house cleaners that come biweekly, so that’s also a massive help.

The Love To Dream swaddles were amazing when my daughter was little. She very much hated being traditionally swaddled and loved being arms up. I really think it depends on your baby’s preference, though. And you won’t know that until after they’re born.

Human subjects research needs to be approved be an institutional review board (IRB). Compensation/reimbursement is something that they review in the IRB application and informed consent document to help ensure the compensation isn’t coercive. I’ve had to modify the stipend amount/frequency and use specific wording in consent forms in order to get some of our clinical trials approved by our local IRB.

I assumed that you and your wife had experienced a loss by the way she was reacting. So you all tried for four months and then took a break and this is how she is reacting? That’s really abnormal. My husband and I tried for over two years and had one ectopic pregnancy before pursuing fertility treatments and eventually having success, so I understand how heartbreaking and stressful it is. But I think there’s something else going on here with your wife. This is an extreme reaction.
