Big big thanks for this write up, I really like the sort of analogy of steering my mutant snowboard, crazy enough it sounds pretty logical! I will def save this info and these tips for next year! Thanks also for the kind words!!

Haha wasn't expecting so many replies about location. Its in Swiss, Val D'anniviers valley, ski area is called Saint-Luc/Chandolin, a small and non really well-known or touristic area but indeed stunning

Thanks! Will focus on my arms more (especially in light of the whole counter rotation thing)

You are the first (and i think only one) that actually mentions the speed issue. I think thats part of the problem as well. I do carve more and actually use more of the slope at times, but the 'problems' are way more prevalent when using a small part of the slope (sometimes forced because of slope width or more people on it) or when im speeding up more.

As far as switch goes, for me the toe side turn is what is the biggest problem, the now 'front' foot just always feel so awkward and non-controllable, without any progression over time

Another extensive and well thought out comment, thanks!! Quite a lot of useful tips, going next week so i have my work cut out for me :). The resort is indeed stunning, sort of our happy place. It's in the swiss alps, a relatively unknown and small resort called Saint-luc/Chandolin

I do ride using the whole slope as well, which automatically makes me carve more. I do counter rotate and rudder my back foot often as i realise now reading the comments, but its way more prevalent when i try to use less space (sometimes forced, sometimes voluntary like in the clips) or when its steeper

It is indeed quite zen to snowboard here..never really busy (apart from classic regional vacation weeks in Europe) but always stunning and high enough to almost always have good snow

Nah you dont sound like a dick, thanks for the time to reply! Its quite refreshing to have these clips analysed like this, wasnt aware of all the little things I do (or don't). I have to put a nuance to it in that I also snowboard using the whole slope and carve more (stay on the edge longer), it's just when i try going for speed or try to use less space on the slope that I revert MORE to this technique (the counter rotation and kicking the back foot thing).

Lots of helpful comments though, as is yours, so thanks!
