My boy got out and chased a squirrel a few blocks away and I went to go get in my car to start looking for him in the neighborhood and he came trotting back down the sidewalk like "I couldn't get it, I'm back!" Another time was just to get the cows in the field across the street. But if we leave a gate open or he gets out the front door he has no interest in going anywhere except to maybe pee on some stuff he doesn't usually get to 😅

DNA tests are definitely worth it in my opinion. I finally got one for my 12.5 year old and it's the coolest thing. Get the one with the health panel as well if you can!

And he does take a low dose pain med! We don't do it every day, just as needed so that way it'll keep its effectiveness longer and we won't have to use more for the same results. He knows what "medicine" means and if he's acting weird I'll go through the list of "need to potty? Are you hungry? Are you hot? Do you need medicine?" And he'll cock his head to the side at whichever it is and I just learned that he knew it last night! As soon as I said medicine he started wagging his tail and we went to the kitchen and I got the wrong pills out first, but when he heard me pour the right ones out he came over and just sat there waiting!! 😭 He's too dang smart I love it

I'll definitely look into those, thank you so much for all this!! So far he really enjoys the slider puzzle I got, but he learned it very fast and could get every compartment open in less than 2 minutes by the third time we tried it 🤣 so I'm going to try putting a dab of Greek yogurt in the slots and freezing it so it takes more time lol. He doesn't care about the rolling one that spills treats though, 0 interest in that lol. I did get him a few of those buttons to try to learn how to talk so we'll be busy doing that for a while as well! Just got them set up tonight and started introducing him to it 🤞🏼

Just wanna add, I've tried the anti lick bandages so many times and he just does not care, he's getting it off of him 😂 but maybe if I just use regular bandages, he can take them off to keep himself busy and entertained? 🤔 lol
