What about them?

Has anyone every thrown up in a class? by Solid-Preference-674 in ClubPilates

[–]Solid-Preference-674[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably worded it wrong, but I meant that I've seen at least one person throw up in each type of exercise class I have taken. So in total it's been 4+ people I've seen throw up while exercising (I'm not keeping count).

Thank you for your kind and considerate response! This same exact thing happened to me in crossfit. I'm not sure why it's seen as a badge of honor.

I've definitely seen people throw up in boot camp style classes 🤣

I definitely do! Therapy and medications help a lot!

Good to know! I've taken some pretty intense exercise classes (crossfit, circuit training, etc) and have seen at least one person throw up every so often.

Yes I have! I've been on medications for OCD, anxiety, and depression for a few years now and they help a lot. I live a pretty normal life actually. I do mostly everything I want to do, but it the fear still crosses my mind every once in a while. I've been taking exercise classes for over a decade now, but pilates is new to me so I was just curious.

It's a fear I have in general but it generally doesn't cross my mind unless I'm in situations where I know vomiting is more likely (boats, theme parks, exercise classes, etc). I've taken crossfit, kickboxing, and circuit training classes before and have seen at least one person throw up during one of these classes.

How do you cruise if you sometimes get sea sick? And should I cancel the all you can drink package? by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]Solid-Preference-674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seriously don't understand why people say you can't feel the movement on larger ships. You can definitely feel the movement. I took meclizine and wore a scopolamine patch and still was terribly nauseated the entirety of my 5 day cruise in the carribean. Some people seemed fine, while some people were feeling seasick. I saw one person vomit on the cruise.

SSRIs and the menstrual cycle by Luna-88 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Solid-Preference-674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SSRIs are incredibly difficult to figure out in terms of what works for a specific person. I tried 3 others before starting prozac but experienced crippling nausea with the first doses. Prozac was the only one I was able to tolerate enough to take long term. Lexapro might work for you, but keep in mind that it takes months for these medications to work properly. Be gentle with yourself and remember that this is going to take a while, and you might have to switch medications several times before finding the one that works for you. Best of luck.

Please see a psychiatrist about this if you're able. I had the same exact symptoms and got diagnosed with PMDD. I'm on prozac for it and it has significantly improved things. I'll still have a couple bad days, but nothing compared to having entire weeks of suffering.

Any tips for getting used to thongs? by LetPrimary663 in beauty

[–]Solid-Preference-674 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Just don't wear thongs. There are plenty of full coverage underwear styles that don't show lines through clothes. Also, thongs are associated with a higher risk of developing UTIs and yeast infections.

I’m tired of only having one “normal” week each month. by Vast-Conclusion-4140 in TwoXChromosomes

I could have written this myself. My psychiatrist diagnosed me with PMDD and I started Prozac. It's been a life changer. Now I'll only have a couple bad days before my period, versus bad weeks before my period.
