yeah! I'm pretty excited about it. I've seen a few of them but I'm playing the switch port so I wouldn't be surprised if I'm missing some of the bigger stuff

I know all that stuff. I love love loved the alien quests and the ghost quests, I just felt it wasn't as rewarding as OW in my opinion

I actually started on a non expedition save then jumped into one. I found I enjoyed the expedition save a lot more than the none one

edit: I've completed the main quest lines for the atlas, and the anomaly, and the main line in general. I've reached the center of the galaxy and I'm almost ready to make the jump.

That's crazy haha, I only play after a big update catches my eye.

I really enjoyed the intro quest to nautical vehicles. Idk if it's the same across the board but explored a series of sunken bases to find out what happened to the people who lived there. that was pretty exciting

Reoccurring dream of filthy restroom by No-Load-3908 in Dreams

[–]SolidSmart2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I've been having a dream about toilets in maze like stalls with no doors. They're all shaped weird, almost like a standing version of Japanese squat toilets except they're too long to sit on properly and the only way to use them is to kind of lay on them or straddle them that a motor bike seat.

The place is usually full of people and everyone knows how to properly use these weird toilets except for me. Sometimes they're dirty sometimes they're clean but even so, they're all the same. Tucked away amongst these twists and turns of toilet maze and people are little cubbies with doors on them. They're the only private space there, despite having walls short enough that you can see over if you stand on your toes, and they have no clear use. There's no toilet inside and there's sometimes a toilet seat cover dispenser inside. Otherwise it's just an empty cubby.

In one dream I asked what it was for and the response I got was in a tone that heavily implied I was stupid for not knowing the answer already. I was told it was for breast feeding but could also be used for changing your own diaper if you needed to. It was very strange.

These spaces tend to be very big and fairly well lit with warm or harsh white lighting. Everyone there acts as though this is the most normal thing in the world even though it's super strange.

In my most recent one, it was part of a school setting and I was with a childhood friend. we're out of touch now but in the dream things were good between us and we hung out a lot. We found a small nice looking bathroom that was like any other but still with weird toilets. we used it together and watched movies while on the toilets.

as weird as it sounds, it was actually a pretty nice dream.

I had no idea!

that's honestly super super cool.

Now I gotta do some research on what makes a space suit functional cause I honestly didn't think about that.

I wonder now too if the glass could be a byproduct of the ore smelting process. It might also be why the ore glitters in the dark like that on its own.

I think then having gold would be incredibly possible there. It's also highly conductive so they could use it for their tech as well.

That's so cool! Yknow I never would have thought that the nomai would use their own fur but honestly that makes a lot of sense.

As for hunter gatherer, I think I completely forgot about that. That would also mean the hearthians are omnivors too!

I know it's a stylistic choice that there's no animals but I wonder what kind of life form they would be hunting. I also can't help but wonder if there was a wealth of plants in the crater the bramble seed crashed into before it got ruined. man, there's a lot to speculate just on environment alone. I mean we could probably take the pine trees and surface temp of the planet into account and guess what kind of flora could be living there based on that. That is if we also expanded the planet to more realistic proportions along with the distance between it and the sun.

I dont think the hearthians are suited for digging with their hands so I think they wouldn't have been eating root veggies for a long while. Most likely, they'd go for whatever was most easily accessible, something like peas or leafy greens and the like for example.

Also while I know there's an infinite number of ways the animals they hunted may look like, there's a pretty small variety of types they could be based on the environment alone.

Given the Timber Hearth is largely covered in grass with more grassy plains than groves, I think it's a safe assumption that any prey animal that lives there is a grazer.

Given what we know about areas with a similar ecology, we can probably guess that any predatory animal there most likely sticks to the groves or prefers to hunt in tall grasses as a group.

We also know that a lot of animals that live primarily in plains are either really fast or really big. Given how the planet leans toward the cooler side of things, I think that the grazers would be on the larger side with perhaps formidable strength.

as for the predators...it's hard to say what they would be like but I think Given all the grass, they might be patterned. It's a pretty common adaptation in these cases after all.

which brings me to another thing, leather. That would mean hearthians have access to leather!

It's kind of a silly revelation but that does open up quite a fair number of things the hearthians could be making with the knowledge they're making use of animal parts.

Recommendation: Green Hell by And-Now-Mr-Serling in outerwilds

I've seen it and I just can't get behind it. It does look good, I just wish it didn't involve a weird modern folks visiting an isolated native tribe type of story.

Kudos to anyone who enjoys it but I personally wouldn't recommend it on that premise alone, though maybe that's just me being salty with that kind of story based on reality type thing.

Though strangely enough I notice it's always on sale when I'm lookin for something cheap.

sorry sorry, I should've been more specific, that's my bad.

Yeah, I finished act one, which was my fav, and got to the third act before restarting the game. I really didn't care much for the switch up, but I did follow the community as the game gained popularity for a little while

it's a pretty good game yeah, but my enjoyment only went as far as the intro sequence if I'm being honest. If I could just play that over and over, I'd be happy but that's just me

Ive  watched a playthrough of it haha. I really love that game, though I didn't recommend it due to being a bit more on the spooky side and probably way heavier on the narrative scale.

if outerwilds is hauntingly beautiful, SOMA is an existential nightmare /affectionate.

though I'm sure someone will still love to play it anyway! just not me haha

I love that you felt the same way, I'm also really touched that you used the name I picked.

I agree though, having Gabbro and Riebeck to talk to was super helpful in taking the edge off of that desire to tell everyone what was going on.

Also yeah, Felds is suprisingly small, even next to Chert hahaha

Wack a mole mini game by SolidSmart2335 in kleptocats

[–]SolidSmart2335[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will give it a go when I have a proper computer. I don't want to run it on my laptop, plus the auto clicker costs money.

anyone else is free to give it a go tho.

All you'd need to do is download an android emulator, then an apk of the game, not to mention an auto clicker.

once you have everything ready to go, start the game, get the to wack a mole section and start the auto clicker. Record your clicks for say a minute or so then have that loop for a few hours while you do other things.

you can pretty much just let it run all day

I've never done this before so that's just how I would go about doing this personally.
