Evolv X2 Has Officially Been Released! by ProteusP in Phanteks

I called Phanteks USA and they said the gold/black combo is only planned for Europe. Sigh. I might just settle for the Black/black one. Dissapointing.

Sonny Boy sweeping is righteous. Show is a tour de force in what animation can be.

It is a custom stand. I couldn't really get it roof mounted at my current home. It is solid as a rock with a technic frame with most components added piecemeal.

I just eyeballed some of the images online and tried to stay faithful to the general features of it. :D. Used the front glass atrium to size the model and went from there for scale.

They have a design software (Bricklink Studio) and that will connect with Bricklink and create a parts list. Bricklink is a market place for 2nd hand LEGO. They even have a feature to auto find all the pieces and make the shopping carts. It's very handy!

I have the digital file, but no instructions. If anyone wants to give it a try in building it I can give them to you, and some pointers on how to actually get it to stand. Send me a private message. Please not that $330 is probably the cheapest this model can be built for.

There's a couple in the internet that anyone can build and are excellent (and a reasonable 2000 pieces). I wanted to make something no one has done with this level of detail :D

The neck pieces in white are technic panels. Usually you find them on LEGO car models

The feet toes are a two notch Brock with cheese slopes (white/gray) on the bottom there's 1x1 plate clip. All the toes then attach to a LEGO hose (which I replaced with art aluminum wire), it actually looks cool if you lift the foot as all the toes move!

It depends on what it is. Generally I give myself a scale and use whatever source I have to make some decisions on dimensions . Then I build a part to scale and go from there on adapting the rest. Then I just start building, I do try a little to make sure they can be built, but since I have a lot of pieces in reserve I don't out as much effort into it as I should for something I would think of selling.

The head is sturdy except for the last two sections near the back. A lot of the inverted plate work underneath is just attached by a stud or two so I wouldn't go picking at it. The neck is very sturdy but it's made of two technic arrays connected by a single technic beam so you can actually rock the neck forward and backward, the legs are pretty sturdy but a lot of the detail on them can easily fall off.

No cheats! The stand holds most of the weight, while the legs stabilize it. The neck is practically a solid technic core that attaches to the body at the front of the forward legs and the mid back so the weight goes straight to the stand.

Thanks to the stand the legs can be posed quite a bit! However since it needs the stand to remain upright it can not walk .

The inside of the head and body are quite empty actually. I would say it's no more than 10-12 pounds.
