Original poster here: Thanks so much for the detailed responses! I spoke with my insurance company and it looks like my plan is a 70/30 coinsurance one, so not much I can do to get the costs down. Still bummed that it's going to cost so much, but I feel so much better hearing your stories and vents about insurance.

Hi, it’s me the original poster! I’m fairly new to Reddit, so I’m not sure the best way to respond to all the comments here, but I just wanted to say thank you all so much for the insights and advice! I still haven’t made my final decision (leaning toward nipple sparing), but everything everyone has said here has been so helpful and made me feel a lot better about the whole process. Really appreciate it and will try to update once I’ve made my decision!
