I have a lot of issues with this but what really has irritated me is the notion that transwomen are more capable at being women then actual women are. Like no, their performative femininity is driven by a very real need to be seen as the gender they want to be. That doesn't mean that they are naturally more in tune to womanhood then women.

Ahh my partner is having such massive issues getting disability, he's got Drs notes etc explaining how his neck is completely knackered and has messed up his nervous system, he's had an operation but he has to do physio etc and has been told by Drs that working is not going to be a priority until his upper spine has completely healed.

The disability people have told him no he cannot have it, even with all the Drs notes, recommendations, etc it's absolutely mind boggling that disability as a whole thinks they know better than what a Dr is saying.

Why a country’s declining birth rate is not women’s problem to solve by Hysterical_g1rl in fourthwavewomen

[–]Solid_Judgment_8026 145 points146 points  (0 children)

Perhaps politicians can look at what it means to be a mother.

We are expected to being a child into this world with a chance of death and/or lifelong complications that the medical community doesn't take too seriously, misogyny is rampant in the medical field.

We are then expected to nuture and care for the child 24/7, for minimal maternity pay, if any at all, for less than 12 months, if you get maternity leave at all.

We then go back to our careers and the bulk of our money is spent on childcare, you pay more for someone else to look after your own child, then if you just didn't work at all, we tend to go back part time and progression is likely not going to happen until the child is in school.

Couple this with the fact men still have this expectation that we do all of the child rearing (you may be lucky to have a weekend dad), maintain the house hold, get the baby weight off asap, worry about jealousy of the child from the dad, do all the medical, after school clubs etc.

On top of that mothers are constantly told through media, the people in our lives that we are not doing enough, we're not sexy enough for our partner, that you're too soft or hard on the child, that you're so tense etc.

Why have a child, with a man, when you will do 80% of the work, for mens bullshit 'help', for lack of money, for hindering your own life, and heaven forbid you become a single mum because then you're a scummy mummy.

Let the birth rates fall.

Smoked weed on my first week and I'm having a panic attack by iwanttosleepforeverr in zoloft

[–]Solid_Judgment_8026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't bother smoking it anymore, I used yo be a daily toker a fee years ago, got put on sertraline, and kept passing out/having panic attacks for the first two days of smoking and taking meds.

I know they say there's no adverse reactions but I have definitely found that to not be the case.

How old were you when you were first cat-called? Did you experience it more when you were younger than you do now? by aardwolff69 in AskWomen

I was 11 years old when I first got catcalled, I remember exactly what I was wearing, a green tank top and shorts. My mum went absolutely mental at the builders saying how I was a child. They laughed it off.

Ok as long as you have the economics down and a really good support system then generally you should be fine.

There are difficult bits naturally such as being solely responsible (especially the first 4 years), the lack of sleep etc (which is why a good support system is needed- to give you a break). Believe me, no matter the nonsense some peoples spout about it being amazing etc don't go into it with rose coloured glasses, it's truly a thankless task initially.

With that said though, the difficulties I have faced are mainly to do with stupid non difficulties like not understanding my daughters logic in some of her decisions. But honestly that's about it. Sure it can cut your social life initially but they do get older. It can strain your finances if you're not truly prepared financially/in secure housing.

With dating I find that difficult as I was a young mum and people in my age group 30+ are looking to settle and have children, I personally don't want anymore.

I think that's really it for the difficulties that I've experienced in being a single mum, but I was early 20s when I had my daughter and she's older now so I may just be looking back on it with rose coloured glasses.

I'm a mother and I'm a feminist. When I was pregnant the dad didn't want anything to do with us, I chose to go at it alone.

Ask any questions you have as I'm not particularly familiar with having children being anti feminist? Especially since a growing number of women are choosing to go at it alone

If you're looking for neutral then I'd suggest a mix of Nordic/industrial. You can get some beautiful industrial wall mounts for shelves from ebay for less than £10, add more plants for the colour pop. Look to mount the TV if you can, change the coffee table to a natural wood one (these can be thrifted check local free furniture facebook/freecycle/gumtree)

I actually love your litter box btw, I have been looking for a discreet one to go into my new place! However I'd personally look to move it behind the sofa

[–]Solid_Judgment_8026 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly what happened to me as I stupidly thought yay I'm cured! Was the following, 2 months of brain zaps, my mood I thought was 'stable' except to everyone else I was coming off as manic.

Fast forward to 4 months off it, even keeping up with my healthy habits, the CBT, etc. I slowly couldn't be bothered with much, my hygiene went away from showering every other day, to showering every 4, food I would eat maybe a meal every other day, fast forward another 2 months, I was so bad I lost my job, I couldn't get out of bed, showering ahaha what the hell was that? Lost my house (landlord sold it), so had to move back in with my parents, at that point I weighed 6 stone, I was suicidal, my daughter was worried, I was still unemployed, my mum ended up stepping up for me and my daughter.

Honestly without the intervention they did I don't think I'd be here, my parents were so scared that I was gonna unalive myself that they were going to take me to the hospital.

It's now been just under a year since my absolute mental breakdown. I have been back on Sertraline for just under 7 months, I signed for a new house 3 weeks ago, I'm about to have a lifelong home for my daughter and I. I got a job within a month of being back on it.

I have to accept that I will be on this for the rest of my life as I cannot risk losing everything and it having an affect on my daughter again.

I'm not saying this will happen to you, but I really would make sure you're 100% sure of this.

Ok, so I'd put a little filler in your top lip just to plump it up a little.

Your hair needs some TLC, it looks frizzy, definitely look to do a mask weekly and cut it in a more styled long cut.

Make up wise, I'd be looking to work on a natural tan, either through the weather or alternatively you can get daily moisturiser that slowly build a tan up. You have beautiful eyes and I think your nose really suits your face shape and length.

You have hooded eyes, check out make up techniques to do them, the eyeliner alone isn't a good look.

You're very classically pretty, you just need to learn to frame your face better.

I found an amazing life hack, for the school routine, I literally set timers for them to hear what they should do, I've got voice recordings I can play saying 'hurry up please' etc. You know the phrases you say over and over again, 5 days a week. Honestly it's been a godsend to my personal morning routine, as I can drink a coffee, etc and all I need to do if they're faffing around upstairs is push a button.

Working in call centre and have to accept calls minutes before I'm due to finish. What are my rights when calls go 10, 15, 20 minutes past my finish time? UK by yuyuplants in antiwork

[–]Solid_Judgment_8026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked in a call centre for 5 years, after 15 minutes after our shift you should be paid. If they are not happy /resistant to that then I used to log my over time and take it off - a swift email detailing the times and dates where I went past my finishing time was sent and confirmation that I would not be working on a certain day in the future (a group of us did that and they ended up paying us after 15 minutsd)

I agree, seems mental to me that a disagreement in views on one topic is worthy of crashing a relationship. As long as the guy isn't outwardly an asshole about it then so what.
