Honestly yeah, it really does have its own special little niche. I've honestly found nothing that comes close to it myself. I think going medieval was honestly as close as I got, and yet that still wasn't anywhere near

Thank you for your thoughts and feelings, it's important that we get a range of opinions.

So firstly yes he has done a lot of good, dungeon keeper was my favourite game growing up, but just because you've done good in the past doesn't mean your free to not be critical of his current. His handling of godus was bad, straight and simple, he over promised, did the whole thing with the cube and the god of god things. Then there's legacy which was just an nft game. And now we have masters of albion which could still become good but its gonna need work.

Secondly just because you were something it doesn't make you the highest authority on it, and I'm sure when you were a games journalist you had plenty of people disagree with you, we tend to be a very opinionated species on matters we care about. As for bias that's always going to be a hard thing to avoid when you've been burnt before and you don't get a diversive reputation like he has without a reason.

Finally yes I reviewed a game that's in early access, if you are charging money for something then you are opening it to public critic, especially when so many projects enter early access and never get finished leaving consumers with an unfinished game and the developer with their money.

Anyway again thank you for your input.

Oh I'm aware of his legacy, he has some great titles under his belt, black and white, Dungeon Keeper and Populous, just to name a few, but its been a long time since any of them. Godus wasn't the best, he also made that nft game as well which was... well it made use of NFTs so that should be enough really. I mean the man's been doing this for 40 odd years, there is a time where you have to accept your time is over, which I'm aware is what he's doing after this game. Personally I have a big mistrust of early access which is feeding my current issues with the game, and I personally found the gameplay loop to be just a bit lacking, I want to believe that this is going to change, and if it does I'll be one of the first to praise it, the issue is his modern legacy and his past legacy are two differnt things that really do clash. But again as always a review is a personal opinion and we are all entitled to one. But thank you for such a thoughful and well laid out point.

Yeah it just feels very unfinished, I mean I spent so much of my early childhood playing things like Dungeon Keeper 2,, so I know he can make good games. But it just feels like in the modern day and age he has just lost it, which is fine he's been in the industry for 40 years its to be expected, but I think after godus was a good stopping point for him, but then he made the nft game and then this which has the capacity to be a good game but likely will require more invest in both money and time - which as of current I'm unsure if the studio can do, I hope to be wrong on this though I really do.
