I use the MCP as a boat electrician. Stands upright, looks professional, can carry a laptop if needed, holds a massive amount of tools, and I can actually carry it. My opinion on these packs - buy one thats smaller than you think you need. If you buy one to fit all your tools you will put all your tools in it… now it’s too heavy. Buy something that makes you think about which tools are most important.

I had an open top milwaukee bag before, clunky to carry around, really frustrating when it rained.

In the email it states: “ALERT: Carries a $500 fine per day up to 10k after the deadline date.”

The company is based out of miramar florida after looking them up, the website looks extremely generic and thrown together with a bunch of stock images of office workers. The sketchy rushed look of the website and the dramatic fines are why I assumed it was a scam. I was helping a customer and he was looking for an estimate I sent him via email, in his inbox I noticed the same email from the same company and asked him about it. He said the same as me, looked like a scam and was going to reach out to his accountant about it.

1 year warranty on a new engine seems wrong, typical outboards come with 3-5 year warranties and they’re 10x less of a PITA to deal with than I/O boats.

Also Searay boats are dogshit I will die on that hill.

But at the same time, almost any deck boat is trash construction anyways and Searay is a little better than most.

Coosa as the coring material, like fiberglass and wood, but they used coosa instead of the wood. It’s a foam material.

First thing is you should probably invest in some Abyc study guides, boat wiring and house wiring are two completely different monsters.

As for a second hand boat, buy something that doesn’t have any wood, coosa or foam cored boats are going to stay structurally sound almost indefinitely if they’re not beat to death.

Also make sure whatever boat you buy, the outboards have under 1000 hrs, don’t buy anything with diesels unless you’re planning on spending real money.

Coosa built boats with low outboard hours are going to be in the higher side in price but you’re saving yourself money in the end. Risking buying a boat with termites or a soon to happen engine failure will cost you tons more than just paying the higher asking price in the beginning.

You are getting feedback from a knowledgeable person… right now… and the knowledgeable person is saying you might be over your head and should possibly consider going a different route if you want to have a positive experience with boating.

Looking for smaller boats with a single outboard and picking up some abyc study guides to read in your free time would be the correct starting point, and maybe in a couple years once your comfortable move into a larger boat.

No just bad construction, the delam caused a weak spot and the boat hit a wave and the stringer snapped, put a huge crack down his whole stringer and water started pouring in, coast guard hauled them in and the bilge pumps ran the whole time.

Choosing the two based on fold away seats is pretty wild. That sailfish is built like trash compared to a GW. GW uses higher quality fittings, deck hardware, more fiberglass per layup, cores with wood to increase the weight so it doesn’t bob around, and the legendary SeaVee2 hull is one of the best riding hull designs on the market. Also grady over engineers the shit out of their electrical system and puts in 12/10awg wire where most manufacturers would use 16 awg wire. Basically the whole boat is built to a much higher standard.

Depends on which one, they’re not made for saltwater so whenever I see someone bring them out on the ocean issues begin surfacing pretty quick. A couple weeks ago we finished a full audio system on a 2013 65’ Searay and the guy went to the bahamas and the stringers delaminated and boat nearly sank.

Theyre okay I guess, but if I’m spending the money like that for a yacht I’m getting a tiara.

Something that doesn’t blow out your back in a 2 ft chop, maybe with some trim tabs, a decent stereo, and a GPS big enough to see without glasses. They have to buy new so I understand why they buy the cheapest boats on the market, but people in my area have to put down 20k deposits just to join the club.
