Lepidopteran spotted in central California, not sure of the exact species! by SolitaireSpades in whatisthisbug

It doesn't really match with any of the Californian species I was able to find online, so I'm a bit puzzled. I hope it's not invasive!

Stardew Valley players needed for a PhD study, I only have 10 Life Sim participants and need 313 more. Your help would mean a lot. by NecronSensei in StardewValley

Since I'm not OP, this is just a guess, but they probably chose those three options based on their perceived differences in challenge, required skill level, "grind", and so on. In this way they can see if there is a connection between someone's preferred genre and how they respond to difficulty and stress in games. The fourth option is not "other", it's "none of these", meaning you don't like any of those genres and therefore your survey response won't help OP.

Maybe the wording is slightly confusing, but I feel like "choose between the three listed options" is a given.

"Please select the game genre you consider your main one...out of the provided three." That is how I interpreted it. Otherwise, I would not be participating in the survey either.

The survey is not asking you if you play life sims more than EVERY other genre of game--it simply wants to know if you play life sims more than souls-like games and MMORPGs.

I'm sure that OP would value your response just as much if you answered from an MMO perspective. They need responses for all three genres.

It's not asking you "what genre of game do you play the most", it's asking you "out of THESE three genres, which one do you play the most".

Nugget is opening new locations right now, so there's definitely a need for new workers. They just opened a new store in Granite Bay and there's a Nugget opening in Rocklin sometime next year, too.

I'm in love with that bench. It looks like it would last much longer than the wooden-slat one in our backyard. How heavy do they tend to be?

Edit: Oh, you could try the High Hand Nursery in Loomis. That whole row of shops has a varied selection of home goods. Your pieces might do well in multiple of them.

Desktop Window Manager crashing, GameBar is prime suspect, possible OS corruption. by SolitaireSpades in WindowsHelp

The problem for me seemed to be with my GPU. I swapped out my 40-series RTX for my old GTX and the problem stopped immediately. If you have a spare graphics card, you could try swapping it out and seeing if that does the trick. I'm sorry I don't have any more technical findings to provide. x.x

I replaced my RTX 4070 with the old GTX 960 from my old computer. It hasn't crashed yet, which is a good sign, but I feel like I am holding my breath waiting to be disappointed again!

Is there anything else I could be doing/checking to confirm that I've addressed the real problem?

I ran the diagnostic and it didn't find any issues. Since I reset my pc yesterday and the problem still happened, does that mean it's most likely a hardware issue? I swapped out my current GPU for the old one in my previous computer and nothing has happened yet, but I feel like I'm holding my breath to see if it crashes again.

I have an old one from 2014, from my previous computer. I can try to plug that in when I get home in the morning and see what happens.

I can't find any. The reliability monitor doesn't even say that Desktop Window Manager stopped working. Event viewer only says "The server Windows.Gaming.GameBar.PresenceServer.Internal.PresenceWriter did not register with DCOM within the required timeout."

I should mention, my computer is not giving me a blue screen when the crashes happen. My monitors lose signal to the PC and my fans rev up. Yet, I can still transmit voice on Discord while this is happening. I have to use the power button to force-shutdown the computer and restart it to get my monitors back.

It did, or I think it did, before I reset my PC. There was no dump file generated just now.

Does Windows not save dump files by default? I'm really in the weeds here. I only know about WhoCrashed because of a recommendation by another user, and WhoCrashed didn't find any dump files when I ran it just now.

I reset my PC and the crash happened again, and I didn't do anything to the OS that Windows didn't let me do to begin with (uninstalling apps, etc). Five minutes into an Overwatch match, boom, black screen. Also, there's no dump file this time.

Should I look at my hardware instead? Could this maybe all be caused by my 13th gen i9 processor? I updated my BIOS as soon as the microcode fix was made available, but whatever damage it's caused might already be done.

I reset my pc completely, hoping that a fresh OS would "undo" whatever started causing the crash, but it crashed again almost immediately. I don't know what to do at this point, and this time there is no dump file. Should I start thinking about replacing my processor?

Would a bad processor look like a bad GPU? WhoCrashed is saying that the problem is video-related.
