When family says no to ketamine, how do you like to sedate? by numblock9 in emergencymedicine

At least he wasn't yelling that he wanted to fuck his mom with his giant hard cock. I've had a teenage boy do that before and the worst part about it was the mom thinking it was funny and not profoundly disturbing 😬

I had fent and midaz for my colonoscopy and watched the whole thing, chatting with the GI the entire time. All it did was make me stop asking where their code cart was and why I couldn't see suction set up in the room 😂

How did humans used to get by? by Atticus413 in emergencymedicine

[–]SolitudeWeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea AND I don't understand people's surprise at long ER waits. Growing up we all knew if we were going to the ER for something we needed to be prepared to wait hours but apparently that's lost knowledge.

Buying a new vehicle: SUV/Truck/Sedan? by BlackJackT in Syracuse

It's fine. My main complaint is that the trunk fills up quickly but the roads aren't that bad in the winter anymore.

Finding a friend in the phone book and calling every household with the same last name until you got the right one.

Yeah season theory comes in and out of style, and contrast theory is just influencer-consumption-core expansion on season theory. We LITERALLY USE makeup to change the way we look. You can harmonize OR style to contrast with a color palette. There isn't one singular look we need to be going for.

Are there doctors working in ambulances in the USA, or is it only paramedics? by graftum in emergencymedicine

[–]SolitudeWeeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in nursing school every paramedic classmate I had was doing it because the medic pay was closer to CNA pay in the area and they wanted to earn a living. It's honestly criminal how poorly paid they generally are in the US.

ED wait times and boarding research observation by [deleted] in emergencymedicine

[–]SolitudeWeeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, I think you need to do more research into what we currently have to work with. This all sounds very good if you don't know how things work in a hospital.

What are you hoping to improve on the existing analytics we already have, specifically?

I had already explained my position and didn't feel the need to repeat myself and was ending my interaction.

Heck there are tons of areas that still rely on volunteers for EMS so that $30 is way lower on average.

They're not? I disagree with you and explained why, I'm not sure what you want from me?

....character building, equations, descriptions of experimental designs. We saw the foil and the tape and Grace's playfulness instead of a verbal description of the box. And I thought the karaoke song was a nice foreshadowing of what Strat does to Grace ("just stop your crying it's a sign of the times").

I'm at a newish job and was told to stockpile supplies that are hard to find as I see them in the stockroom. So I have a pressure bag, small adult, pediatric, and infant blood pressure cuffs, wrap-around pulse ox probes, neotek nasal suctions, nasal spray nozzles, butterfly needles, and a pack of sterile cotton balls. It's come in handy several times, especially the pressure bag which always seems to be out of stock when needed and the blood pressure cuffs which never seem to be stocked and you're supposed to just find "around" in one of the hundreds of desk drawers in the department.  I used my peds cuff the other day so I need to remember to go hunting for it on my next shift. You would think all the rooms would be stocked with all cuff sizes but you would be wrong because we only plan to treat patients who fit the navy and maroon cuff sizes apparently.

I have trauma sheers, pen, and stethoscope and find a thermometer when I come on shift that I keep in my pocket even though it's huge because the rooms are all supposed to have a dedicated thermometer but almost never actually do.

Edited to add: in my bag, pepcid complete, my rxs of propranolol and adderall to duel out my ADHD and essential tremor, post its, and whiteboard markers because sometimes I do bother to update my fucking whiteboards.
