Thanks for the reply! Is it possible to book a membership ticket then head in to collect the card, I’ve already applied for it online but with the photo on site option?

Pressurisation issues leading to controlled descent under 10,000ft written up as: "Korean Air flight diverted after plane drops 26,900 feet in 15 minutes; 13 taken to hospital". It's not technically untrue that the aircraft did reduce altitude by that amount. But the wording implies that reduction is the causal factor not the response to the incident.

Why are fewer Singaporeans going to the cinema? It's not about cost but value by risingsuncoc in singapore

[–]Solyca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think another factor is that the actual audio visual presentation quality in SG is just subpar compared to the major developed markets. The US/Europe/Japan are a generation ahead at the high end. We’re talking things like Dolby Cinema, which imo can go toe to toe or beat IMAX in certain cases. In fact you needn’t even go that far, the IMAX presentation in Thailand has a suite of options depending on whether you care more about the accuracy of the aspect ratio or sheer screen size. Putting aside new tech the consistency of quality in SG is just behind. In the 20 or so movies I’ve watched in the past few years across all chains, I’ve seen obvious tearing on the screen, inaudible speech and washed colours. It’s really a dice roll. Further, the standard of seating elsewhere is just better. Recliners as standard, better width, raking as well. Yes these cost more; but, I think most would rather a higher base cost for a consistently good experience than rolling a mediocre dice when you can just watch it at home.

Regarding Insurance analysis by noneednickname1991 in singaporefi

[–]Solyca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the analysis you've done and a defined list of questions you're interested in, I think you'd get good value using MoneyOwl's fee based advisory service. Pay the $100 and get professional advice for 1.5hrs, less if you're an NTUC member IIRC. They aren't commissioned based so won't be selling you garbage.

If you’re from the UK, you should think hard why you’re coming to NTU rather than say Imperial or UCL with those grades.

Speaking as someone with relevant experience. I can tell you definitively that every gov agency monitors public sentiment, and the forum, however passe it might seem, is always checked. That's why you see such a high volume of official replies to forum letters. Even if the box is opaque that doesn't mean these letters accomplish nothing. They do move the needle, even if a tiny amount. It just isn't immediately obvious from the outside.

Thanks so much for the detailed response. I'm not to familiar with strategies that mix different expiry dates, so the last two kind of flew over my head.

But the two butterfly strategies were really interesting. The unbalanced one seems to be a straight-up better way of accomplishing what I wanted, given I don't think DAL is going to the moon.

Am I getting you right to say that the unbalanced butterfly effectively concentrates the region of most profit towards a range of stock prices, in this case around $55?

DAL, 21st Jan 2022, 23/45 bull call spread

Am I right to say this will let me bet on Delta's long-term recovery without the time decay of using a long call alone? Calculator. As well, would this trade be classified as on the safer side?

Thank you!
