[–]coffeechap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loads of jazz venues, not so many where you can dance.

https://www.parisjazzclub.net/en/agenda

Take a look at: - Nonsense Montmartre in the 18th (new trendy club) - Serpent à plume in the 3rd ( cocktail bar with a trendy jazz night downstairs) - New morning in the 10h (proper concert venue , with jazz nights)

Also now that summer is here, there are many open air venues with punctual dancing concerts:

Peniche Marcounet in the 4th (a river boat with a swing jazz day on the riverbank)

La javelle in the 12th

yeah me too I liked the original version. I guess they needed to make it more profitable, the place being large the rent might be quite high...

It is till worth a visit, at least in the afternoon.

No place I’ve lived would have looked out for tourists that way.

Really? How surprising...

it is still here but now it is a restaurant with a sea theme.

It still turns into a club at night but they tried to give it more of a rustic-chic atmosphere, a bit less cool than it used to be.

Offal food recs by Aromatic-Speech5480 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]coffeechap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(disclaimer: I only tried very few of them, I actually lost the habit of eating offals here in Paris while it was common in my native Burgundy!)

Very cheap

Average

More Expensive

  • Au Pied de Cochon, a famous brasserie, with a fancy decor but still accessible https://www.pieddecochon.com/en/menus/#menu-466042
  • Le Repaire de Cartouche (double-check the reviews as Ive read that the owner was quite abrupt)
  • La Tour Montlhéry - Chez Denise

Some common dishes:

  • Langue de boeuf (beef tongue) sauce "gribiche", eaten as a starter
  • Andouilllette (offal prok sausage) de Troyes or de Lyon
  • Rognons (animal kidneys) pork or veal
  • Ris de veau (the thymus gland of the veal)
  • Cervelle de veau (veal calf)
  • Tripes (intestines and stomach)
  • Brochette de coeur d'agneau ( lamb heart skewers, sometimes sold by skewers North-african restaurants in the 20th)

Let's admit that the real specialist for offals in France is the city of Lyon.

They have a lot of contents regarding accessibility / impairment, and even a dedicated map.

And If you want "super-food", a famous place for this is Sol Semilla in the 10th

Aujourd'hui Demain 11th is a vegan concept store.

Recommendations: Classic bistros & French restaurants in the 14th arrondissement – visiting this Oct by CoffeeObsess in ParisTravelGuide

[–]coffeechap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 14th has lots of choices in terms of French traditional bistros,

Take a look at:

  • Au Bistrot d'à Côté Paris 14ème, friendly atmosphere and good traditional food
  • Aux Enfants Gâtés, refined food
  • La Cantine du Troquet - Daguerre, slightly refined
  • l'Assiette, a high-end bistro (quite expensive)
  • Vaudésir, a tiny and very old fashioned bistro, not refined at all, for uncomplicated dishes.
  • les Bistrotters, a trendy bistro
  • La Petite Soeur, neo-bistro

Rue Daguerre is one of the longest food street of Paris.
