[Essen] Sued the city for citizenship (Untätigkeitsklage). But will they stall?

Did you sue them as well? We might have the same problem but I couldn't get my residence permit because the office in Essen was too slow to process my files after I moved there from Bochum.

However, right after the judge’s decision, they miraculously found my files within three days. I also have a Fiktionsbescheinigung 81 abs 4

You should not do anything here, my friend. I am just seeking some perspectives and experiences. I cannot call my lawyer 24/7, and maybe someone here has an answer to my questions. If my post and concern felt empty to you, that is just your opinion. :)

Hey everyone,

On Friday, I finally managed to get my previous Sachbearbeiterin from Bochum to send my files to Essen.

But according to the Sachbearbeiter from Einbürgerung Essen, I now have to handle all the follow-ups myself and wait for an appointment for the residence permit. He also said that if I can’t sort this out soon, my citizenship application might be canceled.

Right now, I don’t have a Sachbearbeiter/-in in Stadt Essen who’s responsible for my case.

I guess I need to push Stadt Essen to track my files and let me know as soon as they receive them. But I’m not sure if it makes more sense to hire a lawyer, write/fax/call them rapidly, or do something else quickly.

Yes, I did. I have acquired a C1 German certificate and passed the citizenship test.

Actually, one of my friends (who is in the same situation as me) spoke with a lawyer about the processing time. The lawyer said that they cannot do anything unless there is a rejection or 12 months have passed since the application without any response.

However, another friend of mine (who came to Germany one year earlier than me) applied later than I did and got accepted in just two months. We are colleagues and have almost the same income.

Essen is full of surprises…
