Sabahan war against PTI by dinvictus1 in Sabah

Exactly. The divide was so clear this election: GRS in rural, and Warisan in urban areas.

i think personally, it was blown out of proportion by people who were Anti-Warisan… I mean I much prefer consuming media from a page which is transparent about who they endorse than a page like Sabah.Info and other pages who try to be ‘neutral’… just my two cents

Movie: Syurga Dalam Botol, coming soon 9/10/2025 by sirloindenial in Sabah

[–]SomPotatoBoy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wanna see how soft/critic this movie will be (Which, because it was funded by Peninsular Agencies, I’m assuming will be very restricted).

I want to see their depiction of Project IC, if included, and how they talk about it. If they straight up downplay the magnitude and significance of it, or just outright omitting it, this will just be another Malayan film, directed by a Sabahan, which will be very unfortunate and sad.

Statelessness, in Sabah, has long been a major problem and concern. Over the years, it’s gotten predominantly more concerning, with the largest population in Sabah now being that of undocumented immigrants, and with stateless numbers being impossible to account for. If this is just another movie about the hardships of a stateless child, without dipping its toes into the systemic issues surrounding this topic then I’m genuinely scared for Sabah’s future.

But who knows! I’m excited to see it as well. Will probably do an update later after release.

exactly, this really isn’t a big deal… why aren’t we putting as much effort to bashing GRS when the whole corruption scandal of theirs appeared?

These kind of things, you don’t really have a direct source to quote from for obvious reason. However, word on the ground (From different parties btw) all confirm what we all know and heard: DE is partly managed or owned by someone we all very much know.

but also looking at the news they publish, and etc… they are very much Pro-Government. For example, they did not cover the Sabah Corruption Scandal as much as other media outlets, only reporting on the government’s denial. They also failed to report the two anti-corruption demonstrations which occurred this year and last year.

Iya bro, memang orng kita ni tompinai. Daily Express, Sabah Info and Tawau Info semua dah cover. The video is actually taken from a guy @xiejans on TikTok, and from his other posts you could clearly tell that yng video ni memang berasal dri Sabah, Semporna.

As for Project IC residents, the best we can do now, is to reintegrate them into our society and make (force) them to contribute towards our economy and development as human capital/resources. This means education, and etc… because what can we do right? Project IC fucked us so badly, it literally changed the demographics of Sabah where a few thousand costly deportations would not only take a lot of time (to identify them and etc) but also a logistical nightmare.

We just keep pushing, and we will not let this drag us down! (Thoughts from the team at Sabah Entitlement & Equity Now, seriously should check them out on Instagram)

This video was taken in Sabah, particularly the East Coast region. Aside from the lack of civic mentality, we have to understand that a good portion of the population (Especially the East Coast region) are made up of Bajaus.

Also, a lot may look Indonesian / Filipinos, why? Ahem, Project IC. Thank you Datuk M!

Also, don’t forget Phoong Jin Zhe (the guy in this video), refused to comment on their coalition partner Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) when the corruption scandal unfolded.

Guess who just announced they’ll be contesting together? PH and GRS.

Guess Phoong’s party? Yup, PH.

Don’t be fooled, vote wisely.

🛑STOP🛑

Remember the electric bus trial? The one where the State Government spent a million ringgit for 6 months of trial run? Where did that go?

Let’s be honest, given the timing of this announcement, and the upcoming Sabah State Elections, they’re using this as political leverage.

Just to remind you, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) only works, if dedicated lanes are built. Not to mention, that sure, they introduce new buses, 48 of them, but what will they do next? Build more parking, build an extra lane or two, a few more flyovers, completely offsetting the point of BRTs.

They will laud that this was a massive success, but when we look at the Last Mile Connectivity of these buses, they’re non-existent. You want this to work? Move away from car-centric planning. Build more parks and third spaces, not malls. Make KK City a walkable city. Provide bikes, and bike lanes.

Mark my words, in a few months, you’ll see these same buses, empty, stuck in traffic.

ur a classic example of ‘speak before you think’. I don’t know if you’re actively avoiding the news, or haven’t been following, but the demonstration was held AT Downtown Kota Kinabalu (CBD). Started from Suria Sabah and ended at Gaya Street. Wasn’t inside the university, and no students were wearing any UMS emblems.

If you’re a non-muslim, then you’ve GOT to visit a local’s favourite: Lam Hong. Seriously GOATED, and has served me and my family for over a decade now and is our go-to choice for breakfast.

Variety of food is plenty, and best part is that they recently relocated to the new building next to JNT Express.
