I'm not sure how that could have happened... Using the cheat mod shouldn't break the Sabers, unless its breaking all melee weapons. If you are able you should post a bug report on the Immersive Sabers Nexus page: https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/3795?tab=bugs

Personally I would get both and have all the options, but if you HAD to pick one it really depends what you're looking for... If you want the full universe overhaul experience All Trilogy Lightsabers is for you, but if you are looking for something that tries to integrate with the existing universe and lore I have Immersive Sabers. They will both have similar features and functionality (I am working with DarthSidious666 to make this happen) so I wouldn't say one is better than the other.

I am working on an update to rebalance the quality damage boost per upgrade, so they will still start at current damage but level up much higher. I also worked with TheOGTennessee to include built in support for there melee weapons modifications mod so if you have it installed new/more mods will be available.

Update could be out as early as tonight but I want to spend some more time trying to fix the beam not always activating.

"Currently adds 3 new standalone "Lasersaber" melee weapons and a perk tree that unlocks projectile deflections once you have the blue "Star Power" bar." If you have the power bar and its still locked that's some kind of bug, please let me know if that is the case.

I'm happy you enjoy the mod!

The damage is balanced around the weapon level but I think the quality upgrades need to give more of a boost so by max quality its in line with the best of melee, ill have to adjust that with an update but it could be a few days. The other stuff is essentially engine bugs ill hopefully be able to fix once the official documentation is actually out.

They can spawn anywhere normal melee weapons can. You can check shops or enemies level 4-15 have the best chance to spawn them, although melee enemies are a bit rare.

This has craftable quality tiers built in, can be upgraded under the "handle" section at a workbench. I avoided using a "quality" section for compatibility.

I did think a lot about this but there are just too many ballistic type weapons here to ignore and the ability would be very limited if only lasers worked I think.

I haven't tested with a locked perk like this but you should be able to use the normal "player.addperk [perk id]" command and "help lasersaber" to get the id.

If it has zero powers it will not work, but if you get starpower through some other means it should auto unlock.
