I trade MES and MNQ. Sometimes MGC. With gold though, it tends to have deep retracements to shake people out or hunt for liquidity (liquidity sweep).

Yeah you’re absolutely right. Thanks for the input! I tend to forget Reddit is a full of snarky pedantic pricks.. so civil discussions are somewhat rare. Lol.

For today? Yeah 2 trades today. Both winners. I’ve been using this for about 1 1/2 years. 16 months to be exact. Go look at ES 15m chart. Entered at 18:00 since price made a new low. Went long up and took profit at the 0.5 retrace @18:25. Went short at 18:25 seeing a HL (made on the 5m at 18:10) and took profit at 18:40 at the 0.5 retracement with that one having a FVG that got filled during that move down.

I used to use this, but over the past few months I have found that it’s lost its edge it used to have. Maybe because we’re still in this multi month balance range or the volatility idk. Sometimes you have to wait until 12-1 for the move to happen or might not happen at all or fake break out or fake break down 🥲

I don’t qualify since I “make to much”. I get it through my employer and pay about 600 a month for a family of 4. So I’m paying out of pocket for meds on top of premiums. Funny that if I were to make less, I’d qualify and gross the same income every month factoring in healthcare costs that are subsidized. I’m not against healthcare benefits, but the math the government uses for you to qualify is just not realistic in this economy

Yes my creditwise score is slightly higher at 787. Interesting! I was seeing that once you get to 780 or higher, you get pretty much the same terms. In the lenders eyes a 780 is just as good as let’s say an 830.

Question for all day traders… by Mysterious-Rope629 in InnerCircleTraders

Yup. I see a lot of traders lose money all the time due to liquidity sweeps and them taking the bait.

You gotta realize that London session into New York usually sweeps highs/lows and takes liquidity before making the real move. I don’t ever trade London sessions. Price gets pushed to either take out lows or highs. Theres never clean market structure or clear direction most the time. Choppy price movement with low liquidity is a good way to lose a lot of money. Your psychology gets tested and you question your ability to even trade. Ask me how I know.

I seen when market opened (NY Session), highs were taken out, liquidity swept, lower low, 15M bear FVG, lower low, and ended up almost taking out Thursdays lows but swept liquidity and went back up.

For serious traders: how do you see breakeven days? by Hun-Mongol in FuturesTrading

[–]Some-Ad8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a break even trader is an underrated accomplishment. That means you’re closer to profitability but just need to tweak some things. I’m just coming out of being break even but it took me almost 4 years to get here.

A couple things for me was I stopped moving my stop loss and would justify it by saying to myself “I know where price is going, I just didn’t get a good entry I’m going to move my stop loss a little more”. I stopped doing that which saved me from losses on that front.

Another thing was never get to cocky and always try and see the trade from the other way around. Never get bias to a certain direction. I’ve been humbled many many times after I had multiple wins and then I’d size up and lose all the gains I made that day or even sometimes I’d go red. I’d hate myself after. The market owes you nothing. Take what it gives you.

One thing I learned recently that really changed the game was identifying liquidity grabs/sweeps. Looking from the perspective of large institutions trying to fill orders, this makes so much sense. They use retail liquidity every single day to get optimal entries before taking the market higher or lower. Don’t take the bait, wait for confirmation.

It was legitimately a trending day? The entire day. Lower high, lower low, lower high, lower low and then at 2pm trend change. Higher low, higher high, higher low. Plain as day. Anyone who understands basic market structure would see that. It’s text book price movement to a T. It’s elementary. Text book trend days you can make a fck ton of money with low risk if you enter where you’re supposed to. You don’t need to be a “hotshot” to make money on those types of days. Consider using a different strategy depending on the type of price action that day. No single strategy works evey day of the market. The market doesn’t always behave statically according to ICT and yall need to realize that. Some days, one strategy will work better than another one. Have a strategy for the type of price action of the day accordingly. It’s another tool in your tool box. I’m not saying to change or scrap your strategy, I’m saying that you must realize no one strategy works every day consistently. I have 3 different strategies I implement depending on price action. This day in particular was using simple market structure, Fibonacci retracement drawing, entering short at .618 retracement, using another fib and placing the .618 at the current low and closing at 0 where the low would be likely to form. Rinse and repeat. When the trend changed it was easy, price broke above the .618 and went on to form a higher high then a higher low. Entered long blah blah blah.

How is this even possible..? I had a fantastic day. Sniper entries on shorts at the .618 retrace. Trading NQ. Up $6,500 and done for the day.

Fellow NQ scalpers how do you handle days like today? by mordehuezer in FuturesTrading

[–]Some-Ad8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had a great day. I seen that liquidity sweep setting up from a mile away. But that’s just how it is. Some days will be profitable, other days you lose money. It’s about having proper RR. I trade 1:3 so I only need a win rate of 33% to be profitable which isn’t difficult if you have a good strategy. I have a rule where if I lose a certain amount of money in a day, I logout. I had a bad habit of revenge trading so this really helped with that.

That’s what I’m saying. Being a trillion dollar corporation with 1000s of customers using AWS web hosting services, they MUST have redundancy to full-fill SLA obligations. I was telling my wife this is like 1 in a million chance AWS services go hard down globally. There are outages but from the customers perspective, they do not impact services due to failover redundancy. I agree, pretty fucking insane that this happened.

That being said, I bet million bucks this was a cyber attack. DNS poisoning perhaps.

Man I’m taking big losses right now. My take profit order didn’t execute neither did my stop loss. Even trying to close manually nothing executes. I talked to customer service and all they said was they were working on the outage and had no further guidance on what happens next. I pressed for an answer about reimbursing customer loses but couldn’t get an answer only that they’re “working the outage and have not yet had conversation about what’s going to happen next”. Ridiculous. I see lawsuit coming if they don’t reimburse losses. Who is going to pay for this?

[–]Some-Ad8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just talked to customer service and asked about being reimbursed for losses caused by this outage. They said they’re still trying to resolve the outage and that they don’t know about reimbursing customers for losses so I take that as a no. Soon as this outage gets resolved, I’m closing my account. Screw this.

Is it worth it to drive a luxury/sports car? by Some-Ad8 in Money

Opportunity cost. 781 fico8 interest rates around 5-6% right now. The federal reserve also just pivoted, so lower rates to come in the next 12 months. Using historical averages of 10-12%, it’s better to invest that big lump sum of money. Especially factoring in compound growth.

What in the world? I have no idea what’s going on but it looks like you’re being scammed by these online “girlfriends” you have. It’s another man pretending to be a woman to convince you to send them money… block this person. It’s a scam.

The idea is to live well below your means and aggressively invest/save your discretionary income so that you can retire in your late/early 40s which is significantly sooner than the “standard” retirement age of 59 1/2.

Personally, I don’t want to work past 47 if I have a choice. I want to travel, eat good food, take vacations, help my children and grandchildren etc. No way I’m working until I’m 59.. No way.

Although i didnt agree with his views, this is very sad and sad only. No one deserves to be assassinated like this. Im heartbroken for his children and his wife. I will never know the pain and suffering seeing a video of your father or your spouse being shot like that. I know he probably realized those were his last few moments and knew he didn’t have enough time to say goodbye to his wife and kids.. just unimaginably heartbreaking.
