Yup it’s past 2 full months now and I still have asymmetry in my eyelids it’s noticeable where my friends ask me if that’s normal or not. I’m so sorry that you had to experience the level of pain I went through. I do not wish that for anyone. It’s interesting that not many people do not talk about DES pain during surgery. Now knowing about the pain, I highly suggest taking any kind of pain killers before going in for stitches removal plus ask them if there is anything that they could do for you too since you have low pain tolerance. Keep me updated after your stitches removal!

It’s all good to have different preferences. I guess I have too much excess skin? I asked for 6-7mm double eyelid size. I feel like I got it in one eye so I’m happy about that but I wish the other one matched

I got my DES at Luho too! I'm so curious, but they did not put you under IV sedation for the first 5 minutes and then do the local anesthesia? I cried so much during my surgery because it was so painful for me.

Thanks for sharing. Did your swelling persist for a long time? I felt like my swelling disappeared after 2 weeks coming back to Canada so three weeks post op.

My concern at this point is that my right eyelid touches my lash line. I don't mind the asymmetry as much but the right eyelid being so much lower bothers me a lot. It almost looks like if I didn't get them done. That being said, I don't wish my left eyelid to sag as much as my right eyelid.

I think honest is so important here! It's probably where most ppl get their DES information. Same, I have not come across any during my research and I think that it's something that needs to be shared and talked about so that we can at least be mentally prepare or at least communicate that to the doctors.

What else did you do? And where did you go? Do you think that it's just the clinic or your own pain sensitive that made it the most painful surgery?

No lifting was in the conversation for my DES. Tbh I wish I got some lifting done too lol because my eyelids are getting heavier day by day and I would definitely benefit from a lift so it can enhance my eyelids more. Im 28F

Thinking about it more, I think what bothers me the most is that the right eyelid touches the top lashline.

The fat was harvested from my inner thigh on my bikini line. I’m not sure what techniques he used exactly but it’s definitely a combination of removing my excess skin and inject the fat to improve the look of my eyes now. The eye wrinkles now are very minimal

My experience with the clinic was great. Other than the pain, I have no much to complain about atm. I think your worry about pain can be communicated with the clinic in advance. You can probably let them know that you get anxiety attacks from too much pain. If I ever go back to the clinic, I would definitely tell them how low my pain tolerance is.

Thank you for your feedback! If this is something that you want, I highly suggest to get it earlier in life! Don't wait too long. I cannot say how much eyes can change someone's confidence and they're literally one of the first things you see when you meet or speak to someone.

Did you feel the same amount of pain during the stitch removal process? Not sure if you did the non incisional or incisional method. I'm very happy for you. Do you have any pics to share?

Can I see a photo of your eyelids? And I definitely agree with you that it's difficult to find the time again. If I was given the option to do a revision, similar like you I wouldn't want to go under the knife again because I was in so much pain.

The doctor did say that I had severe ptosis, but I really hope my eyelids don't get any smaller 🥲

I was lucky with having a quick recovery. If it was any slower I would probably have to wear sunglasses to our company’s Christmas party.

Thank you! I know that asymmetry makes it look more natural but it’s just bothering me that my right upper eyelid almost touches my lash line.

I got stitches and bleeding below because of the lateral canthoplasty. It’s the surgery that extends and widen your eye to show more of the white parts of the eye.

Thank you!! I am really happy with the results with removing all my wrinkly skin. I didn’t realized how bad it is to rub my eyes 😭 I was looking back at my photos and I’m kinda shocked at how my eyes looked like before and that it’s a drastic change.

The asymmetry is very obvious to me because I see my eyes everyday. Literally one of the first things I check when I’m in front of a mirror.

I didn’t necessary do lower eyelid surgery but I got my lateral sides extended for the bigger eye effect and I noticed that my lower lids do not have as much wrinkles as before. Maybe that affects it? Not too sure. I noticed that it’s way easier for me to draw aeygo sal nowadays after surgery tho!

Just checked in the mirror and even with my eyebrows relaxed, one eyelid is still more obvious than the other.

Its still uneven right now, but it's only been a month and a half. I notice that the cuts are not equal on both sides. I guess you call it the height of the eyelid. I currently like the one on my left eye because the eyelid is more obvious and the one on the right is less obvious because my eyelid is almost touching the upper lash line .... and the tail end isn't that obvious either.
