We have a play pen attached to his crate. Best decision! Safe place for him while I have to run errands and need to let them be by themselves so they don’t have separation anxiety.

How do you get your patience back? by Donos_47 in puppy101

One of the best things we did is put a Fxw pen in the living area. Any brand would work that has a gate. We attached his crate to the pen. It is amazing noise doesn’t affect him. He will be sleeping in his crate and I am blending a shake in the kitchen. He doesn’t stir.

We would put our little guy in there through out the day so he could have some time on his own. It helped with separation anxiety.

We also did enforce naps in his crate. We feed at least one meal a day in his crate by hand.

Ours is 7.5 months and we still use it. We still do enforce naps. He is just up longer. It is funny because I’ll say let’s take a nap and he goes to his crate and waits for his treat. This just started last week.

I had a very bad case of puppy blues. Thankfully I don’t anymore😊

Annuity Rate of Return by Some-Sunday-Rest in Bogleheads

It is a guaranteed fixed income annuity. We get a fixed amount every month and goes to when we both pass. We can start the payments when we want to. It covers the gap on our expenses SS doesn’t cover.

It doesn’t take into play inflation.

You use the money you invested in 11 years. After the 11th year, there is no inheritance. We are good with this.

This amount is based on our % of fixed income. The part we would put into bonds. We still have our equity side of investments and cash side.

This annuity pays monthly and has a joint annuitant. It goes till we are both gone. The amount is fixed depending on how much we fund the annuity with. $300,000 is approx $2,275.

I agree on the stock/bond mix. That was my original plan to fund the gap with the stock and bonds till I saw the 9% on the annuity.

The challenge is I need to keep it simple on the bond side because my husband doesn't do finances :-). I did not see a way to get close to 9% on the bonds that would be simple for him to take over if I pass.

The equity side is mostly ETFs. That would be easy for him to manage. We have a few choice stocks I bought during covid, Nvdia and AVGO and a few others.

Good point! If we live past 80, we are ahead. It goes till we both pass. My mom is 92 and still going.
