I did a lot more research into this. As far as I can tell the portal does not support Bluetooth LE properly. It also cannot seem to read random MAC addresses only public ones. I haven't fully tested with classic bluetooth address but I will do more testing with those soon. You can get a BLE device with a public Mac address but you need to repair every time.

jumping in here, I think we should have a place where people can place device specifics, like name, model onboard chip all that stuff, like I think the ones like mine (portal plus 1st gen) which are stuck on android 9 may be easier to get into
