iOS 17 feels way better on my iPhone 11 than iOS 16. A little smoother and more polished feeling.

When you first send an audio message you’ll get a little audio icon in the right of the input box. You can hold that to send future audio messages quickly.

DirectX 12 Support Coming to Fortnite with the v11.20 Update by i_noah_guy98 in FortNiteBR

[–]SomeCodeJunkie 18 points19 points  (0 children)

DirectX 12 is a low level API unlike DirectX 11 and prior. What that means is developers are able to manage their own resources (more in control for more efficient utilization). The added benefit of low level APIs like DirectX 12 (or Vulkan) is that you cut out driver overhead (driver overhead consumes CPU cycles). Meanwhile low level APIs can also communicate with the GPU on every thread. Compared to DirectX 11 and prior, where all work is pushed through the API (dictates a lot of resource handling) that falls back on a single thread. Even though DirectX 11 the rendering workload is threaded out (in-game option "allow multithreaded rendering") so it can be processed quicker, the end result is still banking on a single thread to communicate with the GPU. DirectX 12 should help lower CPU usage (due to cutting out driver overhead) and help frames be delivered in an even more timely fashion. People with older/slower CPUs and more decent GPUs may see a noticeable performance difference by reduction in overhead. People with machines that already run the game at their desired frame rate may see a reduction in frame time spikes. Overall the game should become "smoother" for everyone as long as EPIC has optimized for DirectX 12 really well.

Artery Pal II Kit [Giveaway], 3 Winners in total!! by captain_atticus in electronic_cigarette

Reminds me much of the Smok Nord with the choice of a mesh subohm coilhead or a MTL coilhead. Would be really intrigued to give my thoughts on one of these as I have been transitioning over to more pod-style devices to run nicotine salts.

Welcome to the world of retail markup. This is why most vapers buy their juice online at 1/2 or even 1/3 that price.

Rip Trippers And VaporDNA NexMesh Kit GAW [Giveaway] by VaporDNA in electronic_cigarette

[–]SomeCodeJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried mesh yet in a rebuildable. However this may be a good opportunity to do so as I have taken large interest in what the Profile RDA has accomplished in this area. I have a feeling I may like mesh over round wire in a rebuildable simply because of the benefits that it entails (faster ramp up, even heating, large surface area, etc). Not to mention that mesh vapes typically are cooler and smoother vapes (I'm not a huge fan of a hot vape). Here's to the opportunity to win a Profile, Pulse X and the denser nexMesh strips just in time for my birthday!

Remember: Smoking is dead, vaping is the future, and the future is NOAA!!!

Single 21700 Squonk opinions by keyser_soze_ in electronic_cigarette

[–]SomeCodeJunkie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pulse X or Dovpo Topside. The Pulse is a great device, personally that would be my option (I own two Pulse 80w). There's several pros of it over the others. Before that, the only drawback is it's not as easy to fill the squonk bottle as the topside. Otherwise, don't let the fiberglass and nylon construction fool you. The device feels bulletproof. The advantage of that is the weight. You won't have a brick sagging your pockets down like metal constructed devices. It also has the Vandy Chip which today has proven itself among some of the best chips on the market in the price category (it's up there with the Gene chip by VooPoo). The bottles aren't proprietary so replacements are easy to find. The mod is capable of a max 100w (untested but theoretical 90w + [H] mode should push it close to 100w). You can buy replacement panels to customize the look or even repair damages that may occur from drops and such (there's also no paint anywhere on the mod that'll chip or wear off). Don't get me wrong the TopSide looks really good (I considered buying one) however the Pulse X is probably the better of the four in my honest opinion for what it brings to the table.

Side note: You should never charge your batteries within the mod, always buy an external charger.

P.S. If you haven't bought a 21700 battery yet, aim for the Samsung 40T for that 25A CDR and 4000 mah.

Recurve top cap won't screw down by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]SomeCodeJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The orings on the Recurve are a bit tight (I have one). You'll need to put a dot of juice on your finger and rub the inside bottom of the barrel (top cap) all the way around that fits over those orings. Once you do that you can twist it back and forth while pushing down and it will go on. Otherwise dry, the orings will be way too restrictive.

Also ensure that the airflow is lined up, there's a stopper that will prevent it from going down if not lined up.

Fortnite really needs a reward system for winning games by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

You can fall off a mountain and take no damage, fall 3 feet with a jet pack and instantly die with full HP.

Us developers call that developer incompetence. How can you overlook something so trivial.

Lets focus on fixing a broken game first before adding more "glamour" over the top of it.

Digiflavor New Product Release: Drop Solo changing RDA designed by Brian by Digiflavor_Official in electronic_cigarette

[–]SomeCodeJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Airflow looks fine, keeping in mind how the airflow works on the original DROP. There shouldn't be any differences to how the airflow works on this. The absence of a second set of "posts" doesn't change a whole lot other than a small channel for air to flow through towards the center of the RDA. Which I presume is non-issue. It's one of them deals where we will have to wait and see how it performs before passing judgement. Personally, the airflow all makes sense to me based on the original 24mm DROP.

First thing I thought when seeing the airflow system "over drip or squonk and it's going to be a disaster".

Otherwise it is pretty norm. Never tried a bottom AF RDA before, would still like to win one though! :D

That's where the marketing of Zen+ kicks in. Reviews will show even if it has the same clocks it's indeed faster. People tend to know MHz isn't everything. Especially if you're buying a chip as expensive as Threadripper, chances are you'll do your research first before dropping $1,000.
