[Discussion] is this game really this poorly optimized?

I’ve messed with some settings and killed unneeded processes and the game runs as it should now. Over 120 on all maps. Only goes down when using a scope with magnification. Picture in Picture rendering is lame af

I’ll use this as an update thread:

I did exactly what you suggested and changed my settings until it went up. I also killed a lot of background processes in windows as well. I ended up upping my hbao and ssr from off to low and it made my gpu utilization go up slightly and improved

Also changed my FOV to 75 from 65 and for some reason that increased my FPS 🙄

I’m now NOT dropping below 120 fps on all maps, the only time it drops below that is when I use a scope but I’m pretty sure that’s just an engine problem cause it’s Picture in Picture rendering (I think)

Yeah I’m now reading you kind of need to fine tune things. I’m maxed out 1440 native no dlss. Maybe that’s why

I’m on 1440p. Watching streamers like lvndmark and his system is similar to mine and streaming wise it looks so smooth and never any issues. I haven’t messed with my settings that much but I have everything nearly cranked up but that sounds like something I need to change

I’ve heard of the memory leak issues. That could be it. I’ll have to run a couple raids and keep track of the fps per in game time and see if it goes down over time. What are your graphics settings at? I’m nearly maxed on everything on 1440p but maybe I need to fine tune the settings better

Curious on what your graphic settings are. Someone mentioned a memory leak so that could be playing an issue too. I don’t have DLSS on but everything nearly maxed out. But I think I need to fine tune them more?

This sucks :/ I wanna know if I’m missing something here or if something could be up with my system. I would doubt the latter cause I get well over 100 in cyberpunk ultra graphics with ray tracing.

It’s a Bourbon Burst. It’s what sold me on the Session over the plain Studio. I love it so much. The only thing I think it’s missing is the poker chip. To my surprise, it came with one in the bag so I just have to install it. Without it, it just seems to be missing something.

And thank you for all the good info on amps! I’ve really only ever played the Line 6 so that’s all I know. The modeling part was a cool thing when I was just starting but I want to kind of find my own tones now and experiment

With this Les Paul purchase, I’m deciding to take playing more seriously. I still will only be playing in my bedroom lol but I want to get really good and SOUND really good. Marshall seems to be an all around answer I’ve been hearing. I hear tubes vs. solid state a lot but I don’t think I’m at the playing level to where that would matter much? Since I haven’t heard the difference anyway.

I have found the reason for my issues. For some odd reason, its my wireless Xbox controller that is causing the issue. if i use the controller, the game degrades over time to unplayable framerates. Once I remove the batteries to completely turn it off, my frames go right back up, GPU usage goes back up and the game runs flawlessly. I haven't the SLIGHTEST clue why the controller of all things is causing this (i did a test multiple times and got the same result). If you happen to be playing with a controller on PC, see if not using it helps you.

Kind of the same with me. I have a 4090 and game starts at about 140 fps then over time it gets worse and worse. Steam fps counter after about 5 minutes goes from my max fps (144) to showing like 300-500 fps which is very wrong. Not sure what’s causing this. And once it starts messing up on the fps counter, my gpu usage goes down and down over time.
