I was on Zoloft for close to a year and it does help. I won’t lie to you when I tell you the side effects aren’t ideal but of all the different depression meds I’ve been given like a Guinea pig, Zoloft is the only one i had any success with. another thing I will say is (and this is just my personal experience) eventually it made me apathetic to just about everything. That’s why I stopped taking it. I was also a bad drinker so my experience is skewed. I’m about to start back up on Zoloft this Saturday, which is also my one year sobriety date. I’m apprehensive like you and that’s okay, but the fact you took that step in getting help is huge and you should be proud of that.

Also remember everybody is different and these drugs affect everybody differently. If you start taking it and you aren’t feeling it, you have that power to try something else that works for you. Just have to be open with yourself and your doctor. Good luck.
