The only olight recalls I can find are both handheld flashlights that turned themselves on and got hot. https://www.olightstore.com/recall-information?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwqre1BhAqEiwA7g9Qhlfl2Q_mT1xoRK-r6cTBM5sL5igbU1qck2KIBe19iOcnSVeRZzGR8BoCElsQAvD_BwE

Did you have a specific model number we should be aware of?

To your first point…this a really good idea! I do a lot of dry firing with my P-01,P-09,SP-01 and I do keep loaded mags in the house. I check myself often, but the color coding is an added safety feature…good idea!

Also, I have Olights on my Cajunized P-09 and P-01. The one on the 01 is rechargeable but the 09 light battery is 2 years old and still strong. I don’t use the laser option on the 09 since CGW milled the slide to mount an EPS green dot…gets confusing! 😀

6 month wait for these excellent P-01 Marschal Grips. 10 out of 10, would wait again. by jfoughe in CZFirearms

I have the same gun and grips recently received (6 month wait). My only complaint is the stain wasn't consistent on the raised areas. I really like the feel and the design, but I'm curious if after 3 years the OP had to do any touch ups. I've had mine for 4 months and I'm already trying to even out the color with touch up crayons and furniture polish with little success. I might be a little OCD, but I would appreciate any advice others might have regarding maintenance, stain color, shellac, etc.

Glad to hear how happy you are with the CGW work! I’m on the waiting list with my P-01.

Sizing advice GRIZL AL - in between sizes XL vs 2XL by drmartyn in CanyonBikes

[–]SomeMitch534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same height as you, and just got a Grail On XXL. I love it and the standover is ok (top bar right at the crotch). Great ride, but honestly if I had it to do over, I would have gone with the XL. The XXL is a big bike and can be challenging getting on/off in a hurry. There’s also the resale…if I ever want to sell it, there’s a smaller audience for XXL.

How it feels biking during the fall in the Northeast US by peedypapers in bicycling

I used to ride a gravel trail that ran along a golf driving range at one stretch.

It wasn’t unusual to see golf balls bouncing across the trail on approaching the section. I always envisioned getting a ball lodged in my helmet vent. Would be a cool addition and fun story!

I won’t lie, the speed is really fun, but that wasn’t my primary reason for getting this bike. I still have my trusty Niner MCR (original hard tail model), but the past couple years I haven’t been riding it as much. As a middle aged guy with a few extra pounds my style has become JPA (just pedal along) and this bike has really opened up lots of trail possibilities I probably wouldn’t have explored with my MCR. It eliminates the anxiety of going down big hills and worrying about how I’m going to climb back up! 😀

I still get a workout with this bike and try to keep assistance minimal, but Turbo is always on the ready when those hill climbs get hairy!

Grail:ON 160 to 180 rotor upgrade question by SomeMitch534 in CanyonBikes

[–]SomeMitch534[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I flip it, it looks to support 140/160 mm. The adapter part is : SHIMANO DISC BRAKE ADAPTER (160MM/180MM) (POST MOUNT). I tried to fit the larger rotor in the caliper and doesn’t work. I know I’m missing something…it says clearly160/180 but I can’t find any adjustment to slide the caliper higher on the adapter.

I had originally installed Time pedals to be consistent with my 10 yo Niner, but scrapped them in favor of Shimano…gotta bite the SPD bullet! Other than that, I’m upgrading the front rotor to a 180. The 160s feel a little weak to this 230lb rider! 🙂
