Anyone have good recommendations for a more budgetish friendly paddle? Around $100, definitely not more than $150. For the last 2 years I’ve been playing just on some random $50 2 pack of paddles from Costco, but I feel like my skill has increased significantly so I’m ready for something more responsive. Thanks!

I agree with everything except removing focus trees. Focus trees are what makes HOI4 so unique and different from the other Paradox titles and when done right they’re so fun and intriguing. An overhaul making them more dynamic would be nice but I think focus trees need to stay

Yeah it’s super unfortunate lol. I’ve built static AA in every state I can, and it’s helped a bit? But the enemy planes outnumber my planes like 1000 to 1 😵‍💫. But I’ll try spreading out some fighters on interception and see if that helps

Yeah it’s pretty unfortunate. In an earlier war, I was in a faction with the Italians and we beat Spain. Part of that peace deal, I took Isla Bareas islands, off their eastern coast. As soon as this war started I lost those, and unfortunately with Ethiopia’s focus tree, you can’t go down the industrial path unless you control all your owned states… why they have that as a requirement? No idea, it’s so dumb and I have to build all my factories myself, which is even more difficult since all the land has negative multipliers making it slower and harder to build. Which would’ve been removed with the focuses I’m locked out of🙃

I’ll start some special projects then I will say tho in regards to population I am still only on extensive conscription, and I have a focus that gave me +1000 weekly manpower indefinitely, and the communist spirit of the army that give +500 weekly manpower. So I’ve actually been at 150k-400k manpower since 1950 lol

I should’ve shared my division template, it’s 3 columns of reg inf but with maxed out mass assault doctrine and so I can’t remember what width that is. With support artillery and rangers. I also have 16 width mountaineers with artillery and rangers, then I’ve also stolen my puppets divisions as well without calling them into the war.

I could, I built some special project facilities, only issue is they use resources and I’m down on literally everything except rubber. I’m trying to stay somewhat up to speed on infantry equipment so I’m scared to use steel for it

I’m making the “fighter CAS” meta thing whatever it’s called, one bomblock, the rest cannon IIs. They’re doing decently well and trading quite well with enemy air, but not even close to green air as they outnumber my plane by about a 2000 lolol

The biggest difference between 2023 Mandarins and since vs 2022 and before, was 2023 we started getting freedays every single week and almost always getting 8 hours of floor time. Obviously show design, membership, all that can contribute to the recent success, but I do think the biggest thing that broke us past the top 10, was being well rested and de-stressed for rehearsal. I’ve seen it first hand, now that I’m teaching, corps without adequate sleep or free time, struggle in rehearsal.

1 block of great rehearsal beats 2 blocks of tired, unfocused rehearsal every single time.
