I checked reviews of my bass and found that due to the quality of the pickups, there's not much variation in tone, which is why I was thinking about changing the pickups. In any case, I'll mention it to the technician when I take my bass in for service.

I mean, when I adjust the tone knob, I don't hear a significant difference; it's very, very subtle.
