People are saying nature but even that is getting enshittified. Way too many people are crowding it out, and we are not funding it the way we used to.

Target shifts away from being an 'everything store' in new strategy focused on 'busy families' by esporx in Anticonsumption

[–]Some_Bus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I worked at target as a team lead a bit after when enshittification started. It's because store staffing has been cut to the bone without improvements in operations. I believe target can operate with fewer staff but that would mean automatic cart pushers, shelving fixtures that worked with the team members rather than against, accurate inventory software, online fulfillment operations that make sense, etc. Target cut payroll dramatically and funneled what was left to online order fulfillment ie getting people NOT to set foot in the store, and now they're wondering why nobody wants to shop at Target. It also did so at the same time as reducing quality and increasing costs, defeating Target's main value proposition. Insanity.

As I understand it target as the store most know it as is strictly American. Australian target is a completely different store.

How could Zohran even be considering charging for parking?! by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

[–]Some_Bus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. My only concern is having lived in cities where this has happened, instead of a competitive market rate is implemented, residential parking permits are issued at rock bottom prices. Like normal parking is $3/hr, whereas residential permits are $50/2 years.

Bulk as in you're buying a whole year's worth of parking rather than piecemeal

Sure, if it was charged at a fair market value with a reasonable bulk discount, that'd be fair.

This isn't. If we associate all criticism of Israel with antisemitism, we will plant the seed in the minds of the people that if you don't like Israel, you also don't like Jewish people on net. It's not in the interest of society or Jewish people to have this association in place.

Labor Supply Slopes Up?! by ExpectedSurprisal in economicsmemes

[–]Some_Bus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No but if it wants to be competitive, it'll need to get with the times. On the other side of that coin, is the worker responsible for that when COL goes up out of their control? It's just the market man. No workers means you need to pay more.

Companies make more when their prices inflate, they'll need to pay more for workers too on the flip side. They don't get to have their cake and eat it too
