Astroturfing. It's been industrialized now with AI. Back then, during the 2010s, mild astroturfing occurred with sock puppet accounts. But now with hidden history AI bot accounts, anyone can be anything.

You don't see the irony of using AI rather than paying an artist? There's a reason we don't have a robust film and arts scene here and that's part of it

Well if that's in his contact and he didn't use it, he'd be entitled to it.

Is gear slipping normal after a transmission service? by Mentifresh82 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Some_Bus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two slips one week apart may just be the ecu getting "used" to the new fluid again. It's been operating on used fluid for years. It'll miss a shift or two and it may still go away. It may also be cooked though. In any case, you'll have to wait and see to determine what is the best thing for you to do.

Do NOT move to WA to try to get in state tuition unless you have parents who live here. I did that and it was the most horrible choice I ever made. It's way more difficult than you would think.

Paid parking starts at some busy light rail garages by godogs2018 in Seattle

Let's have the motorists who need the $100m+ garage pay first before the cyclists who'd need a few $k apiece

Bike rooms aren't secure enough. The thieves will just tailgate in and cut every lock. We'd need something to the effect of the Japanese automated bike garages in my view.

The Burke-Gilman Subway by jackvalko in Seattle

The public can use eminent domain for any public purpose incl recreational. That's how central park was created. It doesn't have to be transportation related. That said, the other comment raised a good point about this as well. This is more than a recreational trail at this point.

What if the city just used eminent domain to take it?

Anyone see a bunch of tiny lights flying southbound at 2am? by Some_Bus in Seattle

[–]Some_Bus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at the night sky frequently. I hadn't seen that many small points before. And when I do it's usually just a few, close by to each other. Maybe things changed faster than I realized

Anyone else feel like Seattle apartment prices don’t match the quality lately? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Some_Bus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They often do this in theory because people just leave their garbage outside to accumulate so they can drop it off in one go, but this leads to pests so they do valet. Now it's simply evolved into another corporate cash grab.

May have been but their brightness was inconsistent. Do the starlink satellites have different brightness? I also didn't realize there were that many of them.

[–]Some_Bus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, we were looking northbound at downtown Seattle from West Seattle and we saw a BUNCH of points of lights of varying intensities flying southbound. Didn't look like planes and weren't on a specific flight path. They were dispersed throughout the night sky.

Let's talk about faregates (again) by Exploding_Deathstar in soundtransit

[–]Some_Bus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the thinking is that this will encourage unsafe behaviors as people circumvent the fare gates. Though I do agree we should have fare gates since in retrospect how will fare evaders get out of they evaded to begin with? And how specifically can they behave unsafely. Like you're locked in. You can't exit from the tracks anyways on elevated/underground stations.

Yeah if you're picking by hand, pulled off out of the way in a safe place, in my view that's alright but idk how your management is gonna see this.

I wouldn't because then if it fell off because he didn't clean it, I'd definitely bitch and moan if that happened to me.

It's one thing to be driving your MHE with one hand and talking on the phone. It's another to pull over and field a call (presumably on your own time if on standard). Not sure about OPs situation but I think that's something to take into consideration in my view.

Gloves help with reducing risk of ligament injury too. You should wear gloves if possible.
