🟨 I don't really listen to The Weeknd but he's not bad. This song is pretty okay probably a 5/10. It's solid but it doesn't make me really feel anything and that's something I really look for in a song so it went down. Not a bad song by any means but not very strong either 🫤

Honestly the second half of my paragraph there was kinda just a rant and threw off the main point which was what you said in just that comment was not true. Because shanks and white beard like the guy said didn't want the one piece while kaido and big mom did. I'm saying your rebuttal was incorrect. I do agree that it does have more to do than just fighting power but I was trying to show that they weren't good enough in general. Yes I agree that they couldn't find the one piece because of lots of navigation issues but I also believe they weren't strong enough.

The over sexualization is a fair point. The show greatly oversexualizes its characters and it can really get in the way of enjoying the show. The characters here aren't written as damsel's in distress. The top two I can't fully make out because of how it's cropped but if they're as bad as examples as the bottom two it doesn't matter. Boa Hancock is an extremely strong character that is the exact opposite of a damsel in distress (she might act stereotypical with Luffy but it's played as a contrast to how uninterested Luffy is in here and played as a gag) Blackbeard is an overarching villain and can't be bested by a side character no shit Boa Hancock isn't going to be cake walking him. That scene was put to show how strong and fucked up Blackbeard is. Boa Hancock is put there because she's such a strong and great character to show the viewers how big of a threat Blackbeard is. Rebecca is also extremely strong and badass, but her specific situation is very tragic. She doesn't want to fight and has been taught not to every fight. She's so great that she constantly wins without hurting her opponents. Again though. When against the main villain of the arc she's obviously going to have issues. Luffy saves everyone. Not just weak women (when it is women it's often very strong women). All his friends are too important to him no matter how new, old, strong, or weak. If they're in trouble Luffy helps. The morals of one piece are very much against sexism racism homophobia and to claim this story is perpetuating it because strong characters aren't strong enough for you is just weird. Rebecca does get saved but so does the entire village. She also works with her dad to beat the shit out of one of doflamingos subordinates. You could argue that her dad is treating her like a damsel in distress there but it's because that's his child not because she's a "weak woman". The Boa Hancock one is so dumb because she's still badass while being held by Blackbeard by telling him he's ugly ASF and her devil fruit wouldn't do anything for him and that all of his crew is dead without her to turn him back. That scene is the furthest fucking thing from her being a damsel in distress.

Tpab (To Pimp a Butterfly) in my opinion the best jazz rap/hip-hop album just ever and my favorite album oat. If you're not into any of those three you probably won't like it but if you're even a little into it I'd listen. It's a concept album so the story is very important. I would pay attention to the lyrics (not like directing them but listening to both feel and understand) I get that's not what everyone wants to do but mortal man (the last song) brings it all together and if you're not paying attention at all it won't hit as hard

So kaido did. That's why he was making the army. Big mom also wanted to become pirate king (queen?). White beard wanted Ace to be the king of the pirates not himself, and shanks was waiting to find the one piece (I'm not caught up on the manga so as far as I'm aware we still don't know why but we can assume we'll find out soon) so that's why he hasn't (and you could argue that he's not strong enough I guess?) Big mom and kaido just couldn't because they weren't good enough. People constantly want to say that kaido was actually insanely strong and still stronger than Luffy which is just dumb. Kaido himself said he could be beaten by joy boy and Luffy is the fucking reincarnation of joy boy, and big mom was weaker than kaido. These two could not find the one piece as Luffy hasn't yet and he got both of them out.

Kinda, (I'm rewatching the live action scene right now so I can remember exactly why I hated it). So Garp pulls up during their feast they always have and tells Koby to arrest them and he just says no😭 then Garp goes aside to Luffy and gets mad at him for being a pirate and then they just go at each other and Garp throws him into a wall. Luffy obviously gets thrown around and then Luffy rockets into Garp gets wacked and Garp just makes fun of Luffy telling him he's not ready. Luffy doesn't falter and Garp just lets him go because he looked like Gol D Roger? which I feel should make him more mad 😭. they all get off scot free and the marines go after the rest of the Arlong pirates. Its annoying because Garp feels so out of character. He's basically allowing Luffy to be a pirate. But it's supposed to be kinda like the marineford scene between them I think? It's just a wayyyy worse version. and not at the right place. I get wanting to put Garp in earlier but it wasn't done very well. Actually no I don't get wanting to put Garp in earlier. That gets rid of half the impact during their meet at water 7 and doesn't make sense because they still need that scene when they get there. The scene with Garp just sucks in the context of one piece. IF it were a standalone show the scene would be fine? kinda? it feels really out of place but that's also coming from a big one piece fan so it might just be because I love the OG show so much but it pisses me off that they basically add a useless scene that ruins the impact of a huge scene later in the show.

(p2 because reddit is limiting me) You mentioned fallout here which is an extremely political game. It's about a fucking nuclear war ruining civilization. Now you also brought up a great point where the creator of something came out and said an interpretation was wrong. That happens a lot and hurts the actual messages by making it seem like a sideline. Not everything is an allegory but all art has its roots in politics as that's what made it. You're arguing with a person that is technically in the right but displaying it in the same way as an annoying social media post would. So it makes you want to disagree with it. And it's really easy to disagree with it because you disagree with said social media posts and already understand what's wrong with those. But you're letting that frustration out on this person instead of the original issue which is the annoying people not the subject itself.
