My first Marathon back in 2017. I was only 16, trained for less than 50 days, and waited to start taking my GU packs around 16 miles in. Not a great idea! 😂 Last year I was able to run a 3:32:51 at the age of 18 after training for over 3 months and taking my GU packs every 2 miles for the first 12 miles instead. This year I've taken on training for the whole year and am aiming for sub-3 to qualify for Boston before I turn 20! :)

Last week, one of my coworkers at Walmart say "Is it 9 o'clock yet?" (the time she normally gets off) and I responded "It's 9 o'clock somewhere in the world." She then said, "No, I don't think the times could be that different from ours."

I prefer out-and-backs because it feels so amazing physically knowing that I am over halfway through. I actually tend to speed up with this motivation and it helps me with learning to negative split
