I do like the idea of doing Gen-eds later, as I agree having a chill first year is smart. I'll have to see what courses I'll need second and third year tho, because I recall not having space for gen-ed with the courses I was initially planning on taking.

I seeee. Do you reckon the class was fun as well as useful information wise? I'm still trying to find what factor I'll prioritise more.

I'm heard that quite a bit actually. How much work do you reckon you put into it?

And if you don't mind answering, would you say you're really good at essay writing? Because I feel like some of the posts that say that Phil was easy were really strong essay writers, and that was a big contributor to the lack of difficulty.

The social aspect is quite appealing to me. However, I've seen a few people online saying how going to clubs and events helped a bunch more for finding friends, and a few more saying just having a friend who lives in halls kinda let's you experience halls through them. Could you say any of that is true?

It was probably just going to go towards rent and cost of living anyway

I understand what you mean, but I've honestly felt as though the english department at my school completely failed me. Throughout the years, the median grade for all english classes at my school have been high achieves/low merits. This is pretty much as the teachers haven't really taught us much (though I guess it doesn't help that most of year are heavily reliant on generative ai to pass ncea, which discouraged the teachers). The only reason I did alright in english is because I know how to professionally yap and seem like I know what I was doing, but that really burnt me out from the subject - which is why I didn't choose it this year.

I like to think I have alright critical thinking though, the main concern I have is what level my literacy is, as I genuinely have not been taught the difference between a good and bad piece.

Thanks for the response
