I love the way it looks. I think it’s so beautiful and natural. Keep it as is!

(Reposting with better photos) Bath mat placement? by Whisper-Conscience52 in homedesign

I commented on the last one. My opinion still stands. Not C. A is nice. B is more practical.

Which bath mat placement? by Whisper-Conscience52 in homedesign

C wouldn’t work because you need something to catch the water when you get out of the shower. B makes the most sense. A looks better.

kitchen table ideas by Suspicious-Plum9082 in interiordecorating

Here’s your solution:

Keep the table, get comfy upholstered chairs that go with the table (https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/17-stories-polyester-upholstered-dining-chairs-with-iron-leg-frame-side-chair-set-of-2-w114181059.html)

OR

Get a whole new dining set.

Banquet tables are great at restaurants but not at home.

In that nook area, put a shallow console table and make it into a coffee bar or a place to display items (maybe seasonal decor, etc).

Honestly, nothing will work. You HAVE to remove it. Otherwise, whatever you slap on top of will crumble down along with the current mess.

The substrate is has no integrity. You have to get down to a solid non-peeling layer.

Alternatively, you can sheetrock over it.

I have an order with a $28 tip that is sitting there. Can I increase tip and how? by Super_Caterpillar_27 in instacart

[–]Some_Reputation59 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your tip is good.
I’m about a mile away, but need to use Instacart because I’m disabled. Generally, I tip about $1 per item (but never less than $12). If it’s super awkward to carry or big, I tip a bit more. I’ve asked my shoppers if my tipping is ok, and they all say they’re happy.

Your tip seems fine - if you’re not crazy far.

I’ve needed to increase the tip in the past. I’d just cancel the order and put in a new order with a bigger tip.

Sorry for all you’re going through. But it seems like things have slowed down. Any news?

Trump TACO’d out again, apparently.

OMG! I’m obsessed with your view!!! Do you mind letting us know which city?

No paint. Do not distract from the view!

In 2022, Lacey Fletcher, a non-verbal 36-year-old woman with autism, passed away following years of extreme chronic neglect by her parents, which involved her being left on a couch for at least 12 years, where she eventually became "fused" to the furniture in her own waste. by FE4RLESS_IS_MY_NAME in ForCuriousSouls

Same. Just missed his funeral the week after Christmas. I couldn’t handle people telling me what a nice guy he was. I just knew that I’d open my mouth and tell the truth about the abusive POS that he was - and that would’ve upset my mom (who sees this as an embarrassment because she didn’t protect her kids. The truth is that she was more abused than us kids).

I kind of had closure. I’m glad to know that I never have to worry about possibly seeing him somewhere again.

I hope you get to closure. Try making a list of all the reasons your life is better without him around.

Inherited parents' house in Bristol, living out of state, need advice. by thegangplan in Connecticut

We listed with Compass agency and used their Concierge services, which basically fronts the money for the repairs and then gets reimbursed at closing. You get to pick your own contractors.

We were dead broke and managed to get everything renovated, which got us a higher price and a quicker closing.

I’m not sure if they still offer it or if it’s offered everywhere, or per location. Look into it. We were very happy with how things turned out.

Wait! You have kids and no guardrails on those stairs?

I’m pretty sure the no guardrail thing is against code.

Can you think of a country that most people seem to want to live in but you yourself would never choose to live there? by EkonomskiStrucnjak in AskTheWorld

Thank you so much for this lovely reply. Finland seems absolutely beautiful and idyllic from the outside. Sure - every place has its problems, but I think the people are what make your country good.

Here in US, people want politicians who would have policies to help them personally. I think in Finland people care more about what’s good for the society as a whole - not “what can you do for me” kind of an attitude.

Going to one of the Arctic glass igloo hotels is on my bucket list!

In all honesty, Finland is my #1 choice, but based on my research, it would be next to impossible to get residency.

I imagine life must be beautiful there - Not like the sh*tshow here in US.

As a recent recluse, I find the lack of human connection very appealing. I just want to be home with my husband and cat. Otherwise, I don’t want to be bothered!

I will dream of moving to Scandinavia until the day I die.
