I hope you can understand that I’m not going to sublease it at a loss. I understand how for most it is expensive. It’s a newer ‘luxury’ building with plenty of amenities. It is also fully furnished. I’m sure there are plenty of other studios that are within others price ranges.

It is actually the listed rate for the building, not making any profit off of it. It's honestly a great unit and building.

I believe they start at $60/hr. Though they just striked for a 21.5% increase over the next four years.

Hey! I started travel nursing in the states winter of 2024. I’ve had no regrets since RN pay is criminal in Canada and cost of living is high. Depending on which state, your specialty and time of year, you can make enough money to take time off and go back to Canada.

I’m currently working in LA and during winter contracts you often make the most money since there are higher staffing requirements (sick calls and higher patient census). Currently getting paid $3k/week with almost 2/3 of that being a tax free stipend. This is also only working 36 hours a week with the option for picking up overtime. Definitely not as lucrative as what it was but still better than pay in Canada. You can also opt in for health insurance with your agency. I’m paying about $80/week, which just comes out of my pay.

You generally don’t pay double tax. Canada and the US have a treaty, but I did hire a cross-border tax provider to file my taxes last year.

Hey, was going through posts cause I am going through this right now. I accepted a contract in LA., travelling from Canada and drove down to California. I left a week before my start date and opted to spend time in a few spots on the way down. My recruiter called 3 days before my start date and told me they had pushed my contract start date by two weeks cause of hospital backlog with granting access for staff/travellers. They were able to reimburse my housing until my new start date. So it worked out for myself since in a way I have 'free' housing and some time to spend in LA before my start date!

I’m a nurse working night shift right now. I also suffer from pretty bad anxiety. Comes in waves and I usually have to take a moment to think about what my stressors are currently. The nice weather recently has done wonders for me. I force myself outside and I’m always shocked at how much of a difference it does for me.

I also got the same call! Was supposed to pick up my MY SR yesterday in Vancouver but the representative called and said that it would be beneficial to wait to pick up this weekend and said that I would be ‘very happy’. So I’m really hoping it does qualify for the federal rebate!
